This issue of Almajiris migrating to the SE is a big hoax and a cover for those in that region to further discriminate and incite hatred against northerners - simple.

The Almajiri system is based on nuclei of pupils under the tutelage of a Quranic teacher; which is quite improbable in the SE due to the natural hostility of its ppl against Islam; there is simply no way the SE environment could be that accommodating to Muslim clerics and their Almajiris to encourage such migration to the region.

This was how they over reacted in a similar manner, under the Jonathan administration, and started detaining and registering northerners in a discriminating fashion, as potential Boko Haram terrorist - even though there was no such threat to that region since then till date.

And United Nations just warned Nigeria of strategic terrorist attacks that would simultaneous being planned against the country, is it a coincidence or something? Or these almajiris are just moving about to infect people with covid19?

Feel the South West govt forum should also follow suit. This is a joint effort that must equally be address.
If such is not taken care of then I'm afraid we are hanging on a knife edge.

They are not only moving to South East... We also have problem with them here in South West. Well, I wouldn't condemn their movements if not for the fact that I still can't figure out why it has to be in a time like this when the whole world is struggling with a global pandemic.

And their desperation to enter anywhere is even questionable and the height of it all is that... They don't even have any relatives or family where there are going to at least stay with
those desperate homeless almajiri are simply fleeing from hunger in the north,it has no sinister connection with covid virus, the causebof the movement is hunger

Just construct gates at all state boundaries. All trucks will be completely searched. Carry all those stay at home workers to the points of entry let them conduct the searches. Any driver found moving these street urchins would be severely flogged by military attachees and have him drive them back and they forfeit the goods to the state government.

The same people they are castigating as almajiri may be the people going about to seek for their daily bread. We have seen some transporting cows from the North to South arrested, though it has been a regular trade practice before COVID19, we know of people transporting food stuff and perishables from the North to South, we also know of the Northerners that go to the South to do Okada, Shoe Cobbler and so on. But seeing everyone has to spew hatred tagging every Northerner as almajiri. This too shall pass

Coldie:
Its not a south east problem its a Nigerian problem. Even Kaduna is facing the same problem.

The only problem with the almajiris is that a lot of them are ignorant, so they don't really know what's happening.

They are not hiding in trucks, that has been the way most of them always travelled, even before the pandemic
Do you know that these people listen to radio (BBC, VOA, RADIO FRANCE 24) and other radio stations in the morning, afternoon and evening for news? The excuse of ignorance should not be tolerated.

The population of vonerable people (almajiri) in the north are so many now because they have moved back home but the federal government share covid19 a location equal to all state that is why they need to share them back to other state to benefit from other state alocation
That is simple political ideology

Where is the 'Supreme Court Governor', the traitor that sold his people to the fulani?

He should be closely checked as he strategically allows the influx of the infected marauding almajiri/terrorists to the region.

which State govt will allow Almarijis in its state, to be cared for and when elections comes, they are swiftly transported back to d North where they will be used for election purposes at d disadvantage of d Southern region. The North shld rejig d way they give birth which is connected to their religion & not to brag about giving birth to an enormous population of homeless children just for d sake of electioneering.

they shld round them up and bundle the back to their Almajiri North
