I was amazed when I found double yolks in a boiled egg this morning. What could be the cause, or does it implies anything ? Well, I'm not a superstitious person.

This is a deformity in the egg.
If each of the yolks has a blastodisc, they can both be fertilized, leading to the mitotic division of the blastodiscs forming the embryos and two chicks within an egg shell.

The egg can as well have only one blastodisc placed within one of the two yolks.
