Much as this is good, it ought to be done through amendment of the Constitution, if the Governor's challenge it in court, they will laugh last and all will be back to square one.

Don't be the Judge then. Wait till then.

Is alright , na their pocket after all

That reminds me, what of local government financial autonomy?
Are they collecting direct federal allocation now?

I stand to be corrected but it's like Local Government Autonomy started during this administration.

Good one Mr. President.

You deserve accolades

Executive is still head though

That is why the head of executive is the head of government!

Speaker is not equal to governor nor equal to chief judge

The governor still towers above both
There is nothing like "the executive still the head" If the legislatures exercises their Constitutional powers the way it is suppose to be utilised, the executive will be afraid of the legislatures especially when a sitting Governor knows that if he viola the law the law makers are ready & willing to impeach him. he will be afraid of the legislatures

The only good and commendable thing done by PMB.

Could this have been made possible because of the new COS?

Buhari has shown that it's not all gloom about his administration with the Master stroke he is dishing out occasionally he can conclude the treble by signing the electoral act that contains the clause for electronic transmission of results he would have written his name in gold by silently restructuring the country and also ensuring credible elections

Good move mr President, we need the same Financial autonomy to local governments also, by that it will demoralize the power of the state executive.

Bro...the Governor is still the head of government.3 leaders can not be the head in any society and have equal power, there will be anarchy.

Don't misunderstand the concept of separation of powers

So what?

Is governance a competition
There is or should be SEPARATION of powers

The eyes are not the equal of the legs

They perform DIFFERENT roles
no problem

So if they asked you who is the head of government of your state name your speakers and your chief justice

That is not in dispute . No body is arguing. Head of government is not a King or Emperor..

Head of government is not a Judge and cannot perform judicial functions

Good morning. The Governor is the no 1 man in the state does not make him the defacto man in the state. The "separation of power conferred equal power on the 3 arms of government. We had situations where the legislatures have impeached their governors. The Governors are afraid of loosing their grip on the lawmakers & that is why they are not happy with the recently signed executive order of the President because they can no longer withhold the money of other arms of government & use same to be arm twisting them to their favour

Then the governor is not number 1

Because I don't understand what you mean by number 1
