Have been doing ma research for some time now on which distro to stick
This is my first real install to hard drive (just started) have been using live cds

and you use Arch??

Arch for the process of learning how linux really works

are u serious?

Yes really

why by the way? what is it you do with Arch?

remember hobbyist

im just wondering abt your choice.

just want to really understand CLI

I did the base install, installed X and installed fluxbox (now configuring fluxbox)

nah, not a pro definitely. not even semi-pro, dont think iv gotten past the noob stage lol tongue tongue

just been a bit round, these days find it difficult to get time to do anything else than work. use linux for my personal ish though.

ubuntu fan, though these days the fun is going out of using it (everything works is a noob's overrated mantra)

also really like puppylinux and some slax, simply cos i cannot get my mind round how a 100-12mb os can do more or work better than 4gb behemoths (windoze, im looking at yu) grin grin grin grin grin grin

used quite a couple of distros over the years when i had time to hobby like u lol, miss it still

i love linux, from the positively sublime to the irretrievably ridiculous u can get with it.

as to my question with Arch, as far as i know using arch requires you to be a CLI junkie. good one sha

4llerbuntu:

puppylinux *** i installed on my 2GB flash drive (1.4GB (ntfs) used as normal, 500MB (ext3, puppy-lucid)) ***

you to be a CLI junkie***that is what I want to be ***

but not always, like I said I have installed fluxbox, about configuring it.
