I think our Lecturers work like elephants and earn like ants, they deserve a better pay or renumeration.
In terms of welfare:
You know that 50% of your lecturers don't have good offices/furnitures.
Most lecturers lack good working environment.
Most lecturers handle/teach a crowd of students yet they still try to deliver lectures in such environment (instead of the normal 30-50 students class size).
Most Lecturers supervise projects at their expense.
You want his best yet you deny him the best.
When you compare this salary with those of other Federal Govt agencies it's very very ridiculous.
If you compare it with Universities abroad then Nigeria �� salary scale for lecturers is infinitesimally small.
Before you criticise them;
First put yourself in their shoes.
Could you have studied to PhD just to earn #130,000?
Could you have invested the better part of your life upto Prof just to earn #345,000?
Think! They may not have been the best they should yet they are among the best in the world especially if they are giving the right environment to practice.

And when they want to come they send junior lecturer Some leave the students and run after other businesses Some lectures in three other private uni Compulsory text book they copied from Google for student to buy In as much that I don't support government harsh decision on them, I think it is a welcome development that they are screened too Some of them do not update their skill, which makes students correct some of them They make our education so difficult that when u travel abroad to study u will see how loving lecturers can be 7 Likes 2 Shares |

This are complete white elephant projects because they are Business that don't generate the amount put into them.

I think ASUU should be concerned about correcting any genuine irregularities in salaries arising from adoption of the IPPIS platform. I know some civil servants who initially had their salaries slashed by the system but have been fully paid all the shortages.

I am very surprised many Nigerians believed this lie from the pit of hell. Come to think of it, Federal Government will be paying so much to offset University staff and we are just hearing it for the first time since eight years ago when they started the new tax regime. Ngige is just playing to gallery justifying why they must remove any amount they deemed fit from workers' salary. If FG has been paying so much, why have they been removing it from the source after-all they deduct NHIS from the source. Nigeria lecturers are lazy, they keep on recycling lecture notes for more than a decade and when election comes they will announce election results in duress so that they will pay them. majority of them are corrupt and can't offer anything only to read from text books and copy foreign text to make up there own .
