I have a 32gb SD card that I used with my Nokia 5.1 last year.
I formatted it as internal storage on Nokia 5.1. But then, I got Infinix Note 5, I formatted it as portable. I used that same SD card on Nokia 3.1 as internal storage too. Now I'm using the same SD card on my OTG drive.
So, kindly disregard that information.
olayinkajnr: Actually, he can. All he has to do is to format it back, either as portable or as internal storage.
Sorry about your lost SD card. But one or two things might contribute to it getting damaged and key among them is maybe it is a fake SD card or you don't just know how to format it outside the phone.

olayinkajnr: If you format it as portable devices, you won't be able to install apps on it. Only pictures, music and other files can be saved on it.
If you format as internal, it will assume the position of your internal storage. All apps will be installed on it, all apps data will be saved in it. All your pictures, music and other files will be saved on it.
Plus, it won't be as fast as when you format as portable.
If you are formatting as internal, it's advisable to use an original SD card with high read and write speed.
If you're experiencing data zapping on your device, kindly do this tweaking.
Settings > Sync > Mi Cloud > Disable the gallery sync.
Turning off your auto sync will disable your email sync which is not recommended for those that uses office email or have active emails.
Edited: Also, you can check if your System apps updater is set to Auto updates, if it is, change to "Don't update" but leave the "Show update notifications" active.
2. Disable your Auto updates on Google play too. How? GooglePlay > Menu > Settings > Change "Auto Update Apps" to "Don't auto update apps" and change "Auto Play videos" to "Don't Auto Play Videos".
3) Don't forget, WhatsApp status is a data zapping feature
4) Facebook isn't left out if your video playback is active
5) this is rare though: Google Photos/drive auto sync (disable and change to manual sync). This is to those that prefers Google Photos to Mi Cloud like me

Boleandfish, once you've taken your screenshot, click on it before it's taken off your screen and click on 'scroll'.
2- Open the app and charge your phone up to 100% (important: you should only proceed with the calibration when "Full" appears in Ampere)
3- Keeping your phone connected to the cable, go to your file explorer and then "/data/system" and delete "batterystats.bin ", " batterystats-checkin.bin" and "batterystats-daily.xml"
4- Reboot your phone (plugged yet) and charge it till "full" on ampere again
5- Unplug the cable and use normally your phone till its shutdown (0%)
6- Charge your phone up to 100% with it turned off
7- Turn on your phone (plugged) and charge till "full" on ampere

Let's go there! Settings > Emergency SOS > toggle it ON > Add number(s). This feature will send the coordinates of your location to your emergency contacts each time you press your power button 5x. You can also activate the option of sending your last 1hr call history to your emergency number(s).

To do this, enable 'double tap' to wake, then go to settings - Additional settings - buttons and gesture shortcut, then change 'turn off screen' to ' long press the home button'. You can back up your apps offline using Xender→PC connection (check my Xiaomi compilation link on my signature). You can NOT backup the appdata/cache offline, some do not support inline backup sef.

Just go to 9pay.com.ng and register with your mobile number (9mobile number) and the Google account you use on playstore (very important).
Once done, fund the 9pay wallet that's associated with the Google account and phone number you used in registering.
Make sure you have only the 9mobile SIM inside your phone so you won't have any issue.
Open playstore once your 9pay wallet is funded, and then click the 3 dots at the uppermost left hand corner and select payment method. A new page will open and you'll see 9pay, click it and it will add automatically.
After that, you are good to go.

To convert tff or otf or ttc to mtz file using ifont
**Download ifont and miui theme editor from playstore. **Open ifont. Go to My - settings - change font mode - miui theme mode. **Go back. Still on the My tab, select my fonts -click this. Then navigate to where the tff or otf file is located, select it and click 'set'. Close the app.
To create a miui font file from any ifont mtz file
** open miui theme editor ** Click browse. ** navigate to where the mtz file is located. In this case storage - miui - theme. You should see the mtz file with ifont attached to the name. Select it. ** Click on start - next - finish. Close the app. ** open themes app. ** Click on themes - offline - scroll down to import. ** navigate to storage - miui - theme. Select the mtz file. Be careful not to select the mtz file you created with ifont. You can differentiate them by date / time they were created. The more recent should be the one to select. ** after selecting, the new font should appear under the fonts tab or theme tab. Select as desired to apply.

Updating ROM manually?: Download miui version of your choice to downloaded_rom folder of your device > updater > choose update package > select the file > update (MIUI downgrade is no more supported, so, be warned).

This is alternative to honsule's option: Just add a unique pharse from that SMS to your block list and you're good to go. How Security > block list > gear at the top-right > SMS blocklist > keyword blocklist > add > save.

For other sites apart from YouTube, you can add sfrom.net/ before the URL and hit enter that is, sfrom.net/http:// noobody.com/ and you'll get all the links for videos contained on the web page. TubeMate is tight though.
Double contacts showing?
jboixxx: For your merged contact, All I did was to delete all my contacts (including MI contacts and Google contacts via browser), disable my MI account contact backup totally and restored my vCard contact backup made on my Windows contact(I always do a vCard backup to my lappy at intervals). Then activate Google contact synchronization.
Updating? You're advised to download your updates using ucbrowser and update manually

Backup process: Settings>additional settings> backup n reset>local backup> backup> system (click on the arrow at the right end to select your desired items to be backed up. Remember to deselect the SETTINGS)> ok. Do same with the APPs section. Then click BACK UP. Go to your Internal drive>miui>copy the backup folder as it is to SD or your system.
Restore process: Copy the backup folder to MIUI folder in the internal storage. Go Settings>additional settings> backup n reset>local backup> select the last backup item> Restore.
Query whichever process that isn't clear and nite that this backup doesn't back up your 3rd party apps data like your WhatsApp messages.

If it is a spam to you, disable it by: Settings > permission > permission > sm permission, click upper right 3dots > mobile broadcast > disable.

This is something I'd like to share especially for people like us who have small palms and are using 6"plus and 5.5" Xiaomi mobile phones; and it's strictly for people who have Google Chrome installed in their phones. You can agree with me that just like any other browser, when wanting to type in web addresses, moving your thumbs from the keyboard location to the top of the phone screen where the URL Tab is located, as well as holding your large phone in place, can be very tiring. There's a tweak to it...and it's called CHROME HOME.
Open your Chrome app, Hit the URL Tab, type and send

You'll end up getting the Google Chrome experimental menu. From here, scroll down carefully and ENABLE below:
CHROME HOME, CHROME HOME DOODLE, CHROME HOME EXPAND BUTTON, MODERN LAYOUT FOR CHROME HOME and CHROME HOME SWIPE LOGIC, select Swipe On Expand Button. Then hit RELAUNCH NOW. What this basically does is that it takes the URL Tab from the top of the screen all the way down to the bottom. It also adds some new cool transitions to it. Having the bar at the bottom keeps your fingers in place and your browsing experience less tiring. That's all.

You can have as many scheduled silence/DND as possible.
You can configure your DND feature by clicking on it and toggle as necessary.
TIPS & TRICKS 3 Did you know that you can transfer user files to/from your internal storage from/to your PC via Xender app? Oya, let's go: * Open your Xender app > option/menu (top left) >Connect to PC > Create hotspot * ON your PC WiFi > Connect to Xender_****** > open your browser > enter http: //192•168•43•1:33455 (replace • with .) * Accept the connection request pop-up on your phone. * Voila, you can access APKs, music, images, videos, docs, and folders available on your phone on your PC. * To download, just select the checkbox (es) and click on the download button. You can as well delete phone files from your PC screen (be careful of what you delete cuz it/they can't be restored) * Files can be moved from your PC to your phone by dragging the file from the PC to the Xender active session.

Now we have generations, which does not translate number incremental let say 652 should be a newer processor when compared to 636.. in this example 636 is far better than 652 Same way 660 is a newer generations to 652.. in this case 660 is better
The new 636 mid-range processors are far better than 801,810 Flagships series
That does not mean you should compare 636 or 660 to 835/845 because they are the newest generations of flagship Qualcomm processors..

The fun of it is that you can use fingerprint for the first space and use just pin for the second space. Whenever your phone is locked and someone asks you for password, just give them the pin for the second space, they'll open and find no apps installed or pics / music. But once you lock the phone and use fingerprint, first space opens with all your data/apps.

Did you know that you can record your calls automatically, either all calls or calls from specific numbers aside using the incall Record button? This is handy if you have a boss that calls in d middle of nowhere to give instructions! Oya, let's go there.
Press the Menu key (the 3 horizontal lines) on your dial pad> Call recording > toggle ON the Record call automatically option > Selected numbers > Custom lists > use the + sign to add your numbers.
