National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Kola Ologbodiyan, has asked Kogi State governor, Yahaya Bello, to apologise to the people of the state for misleading them on COVID-19.

In a statement on Monday, Ologbodiyan said Bello did not show the required seriousness in leadership in the fight against the pandemic in the state.

He said the Kogi governor needed to apologise to the people for also not funding the committee he set up to fight the pandemic and for not providing palliatives to the people like was done in other states.

Ologbodiyan, who is from the state, urged residents not to panic as Coronavirus was not a death sentence, adding that the disease shall soon be a thing of the past.

Following a reported case of COVID-19 in Kogi State, Governor Bello on Monday ordered a 14-day lockdown of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area effective from 12am June 2.

He said the lockdown was aimed at identifying those, who may have had contacts with the alleged index case.

The move was in contrast to where the Kogi Government stood a few weeks back when it insisted that there was no case of the virus in the state despite confirmation by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.Ologbodiyan, who is from the state, urged residents not to panic as Coronavirus was not a death sentence, adding that the disease shall soon be a thing of the past.

All the leaders that denied and deflected the Coronavirus, ended up with the highest number of casualties. Ask USA, Brazil and Russia.

Masking ignorance with arrogance has never helped anyone.

It is a ploy to punish Kabba and Bunu people because of Dino Melaye.

Since he was the one that carried loud speaker to be shouting up and down.

So if the people start to miss the freedom they had all along and start complaining, he will easily say " your own Dino said you have covid19 in your midst so you need a total lockdown"

For the first time i am with Bello on this 100% grin

It's so unfortunate, you won't hear any good news coming from my state,... the Governor doesn't care about the welfare or well being of the people of his state, the only thing I will say for now is. " any evil done by man to man will certainly be redressed, if not now certainly later, if not by man certainly by God, for the victory of evil over good can only be temporary..."

PDP is the problem of Nigeria. They are the founder of corruption in Nigeria just as NCDC has being trying to perfect their stealing, God is watching.

PDP believes that their is Corona Virus but some people are still believing there is no corona virus in Nigeria but existed in other countries. Buhari and Sanwó-Olú, in fact, APC are just using it to steal money. Where are the people that have corona virus? Show us the videos and their test result, everything is a lie, coronavirus patients in abroad are on ventilators but in Nigeria they are eating and dancing... If you are in any of the groups, please stop being "Uncle Thomas".

Wait and check, most of those who died of Coronavirus like Abba Kyari have underlining medical conditions that they have been managing for years. Why now, during coronavirus era, that, that same medical condition leads to death? Why is this, the same for all, if not that another sickness "entered", why is the underlying medical conditions choose coronavirus period to kill all of them. May their souls rest in peace.

They even asked, are there any one who knows anyone with coronavirus? At least, if Atiku's son declaration and Abba Kyari, El-Rufai, etc stories were political, read this careful, I LOST A FRIEND TO COVID-19. He travelled from Lagos to his home town before the FG lockdown, he has two critical underlying medical conditions. Wheh he started to feel unwell, he called on his private doctor to attend to him. He was being treated by a private doctor for over 3 weeks, his health was not improving, then he started showing coronavirus symptoms. The doctor contacted the NCDC, you know Nigeria and their slow processes, I forgot to add that there was no testing center in the state. Before the test results could come, which came positive, he has given up the ghost. 2 weeks ago, I was informed that his father has died, possibly due to the shock of how he died as he is the bread winner. His mother health position has since changed and I knew the financial status of the families will not remain the same.

COVID-19 is real, our pray is not to experience it, in order to believe.

Yahaya Bello is still standing on his ground that there is no Covid 19 in Kogi.

But since Dino want to play politics with it and he is from Kabba, bello was like okay if you guys claim you have coronavirus then let’s do contact tracing and lock down the town.

It’s a way to punish them.

And the enforcement of the lockdown will be massive, they MUST obey ooo grin
