You are ignorant. If only you had taken half of Aburi after Ojukwu took advantage of half illiterates. If only you had not invaded Mid- West. If only you had not invaded ORE. If only Ironsi had immediately brought Nzeogwu to justice by military court. If only Ironsi had not declared Unitary Government If only Zik had not been happy or spiteful to be contented as ceremonial President. If only Zik had allowed Awo Amendment to Opt out of Nigeria in the Construction. If only Zik had not handed Nigeria to the North instead of his children blaming the British. Which of all these Powers had Israel enjoyed? Stop comparing yourselves to Jews. You are older and earlier in civilization. proeast: |

Iamgrey5: These are the people whose interest in the war was oil. A people who lost 30,000 souls in the most gruesome manner during pogrom will be mad if their priority is crude oil. We were desperate for safety! For months Nigeria under Gowon could not guarantee that. Our peace efforts at Aburi was mocked by Gowon when he divided a people into two without their consent! Tell me honestly one thing that Gowon did during the pogrom in the north to protect the Igbos. A free for all killing that lasted for 5 good months. Did he assist the eastern region in taking care of their refugees that survived the pogrom. What was the effort of Gowon and Nigeria in ensuring that anger in the Eastern region was calmed. Answer is NOTHING! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! 8 Likes

nobaga: If only you guys that talk from both sides of the mouth had allowed Ironsi to do his job. If only there weren't wild jubilation in the west and their media hailing Nzeogwu and Co as revolutionaries If only the western region was able to manage their internal affairs without handing over their political freedom to Ahmadu Bello and Tafawa Balewa, through their stooge Akintola. If only the west had maintain their narrative that the coup was the right call and not make a 360 degree turn the moments Nothern soldiers bared their fangs. If only you guys were not shady and unreliable, you would have stood up against injustice when the murder of your fellow civilians up north started instead of your Obas moving round to thanks nothern Emirs for killing the Igbos only and sparing the yorubas. Igbos no send anybody for crude oil, by the month end everyone will line up at Emeka and Chinedu shop to do "account" I really pity the Nigerdeltans whose land has been raped beyond recognition. 6 Likes |

Iamgrey5: You guys are all the same. You jump up and down with fabricated history twisting facts and making it impossible for any sensible discussion. How could Igbos Annex the people who were all with them in the same region before everthing started. The assembly that decided on Biafra cut across all the minority provinces, even the name Biafra was chosen by an ijaw man with Gen. Phillip Effiong as Ojukwu deputy. Show me evidence where the Minorities declared that they do not support secession prior to Ahiara declaration. How can you support Ojukwu in the morning then deny him in the evening the moment Nigerian soldiers came knocking. 9 Likes |

gwafaeziokwu: When were Yorubas massacred in the north? that’s news to me. So if you agree that there was a stooge in our political party, why blame us for the man’s actions, we too wanted him dead. The west and the rest of the country changed their tune because the coup plotters sparred Igbo leaders’ lives even though they were just as corrupt as the other officials they killed. It just seemed like the coup plotters had no regard for northern and western leaders (that’s where you people f***d up, should’ve killed at least one of your own. Nzeogwu and his crew should’ve definitely been brought to justice at the very least, you can’t show partiality like that and expect to get away with it. I crossed out the paragraph of your post that was devoid of facts and just a mere heresy 2 Likes |

Iamgrey5:Lol. How 'have' fulani herdsmen been treated in Nigeria today? Have any of you have the balls to confront them? The way some of you talk make me to wonder. All non fulanis/kanuris who fought against Igbos during the war are today ashamed of their participation in that evil gang up. After defeating Biafra and having Nigeria entirely in the hands, what has become of her? The contraption with the worst poverty index in the whole world. A failed jungle where the lives of dogs are worth more than that of her citizens. At present, what's the worth of a Nigerian's life? Nothing. Police kill you like chickens. Foreigners (foreign fulanis) lay waste to communities without anyone coughing. Your women have worn black clothes and lamented with all the media coverage yet their men are too scared to talk. Shame on all of you. Gowon is busy praying. Danjuma can no longer sleep. Obasanjo is writing letters up and down. Shame on all of you. Your children will curse all of you for bringing them into such an evil contraption. Majority of the populace will be buried in mass graves. Shame. 8 Likes |

Iamgrey5:This one is very confused. He doesn't even know either geography nor history yet he's talking. Did Nigeria not let Bakassi to go to Cameroon? Has any group tried to leave? The only place people like you have mouth is in Igbo matter simply because we lost the war. We've learnt our lesson. When next it will be, weapons will be readily available for our use then we can see your bravado. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Iamgrey5:And who's stopping you from telling your own story? Go ahead and write how Biafra soldiers massacred your people and all that. As a matter of fact, so many war major actors have written lots of self perceived version of the civil war. Not only Biafrans, with the exception of illiterate northern soldiers like buhari, babangida, Abacha etc, who couldn't come up with intelligible script (cos they can't write), there's hardly a Nigerian war commander that hasn't written a piece about the civil war. Since you can write, go ahead and write your version, nothing is stopping you. 6 Likes |

DuwaRepublic:You can't easily succeed at distorting the history, at least the records are all available. 60% of the coup plotters and executioners are from the Midwestern region, we had some easterners as well as a westerner amongst the ruthless 8 majors. You're totally wrong to term it an Igbo coup, having said that, you're also wrong to assert that they never regarded the lifes of politicians from other regions. They only want to effect needed cleansing in the national leadership. The north on trying to retaliate equally killed the military governor of western region, what justification could be given to that? Do not try to upturn the history to your Favour. 6 Likes |

The Arewa youths even gave the Igbos marching orders to leave the north in 2017, instead of leaving, they went about begging northern politicians, traditional rulers etc that they don't want to leave, shows their seriousness on going to get Biafra. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Iamgrey5: That is actually what they want. For Gowon and OBJ to say what will make the rest of the country begin a second pogrom against the Igbos. So that they can re-found Biafra Republic. And don't expect no less than heavy sanctions on Nigerian government if the pogroms happen. By the way, nobody has monopoly of violence, expect the foreigners in Igbo land to be treated however way Igbos are treated in the rest of Nigeria. 1 Like |

Iamgrey5: Resolution passed on May 27, 1967. The Republic of Biafra : Resolution by the Eastern Region Consultative Assembly. We, the Chiefs, Elders and Representatives of Eastern Nigeria, gathered at this Joint meeting of the Advisory Committee of Chiefs and Elders and the Consultative Assembly do solemnly declare as follows: Whereas we have been in the vanguard of the national movement for the building of a strong, united and prosperous Nigeria where no man will be oppressed and have devoted our efforts, talents and resources to this end; Whereas we cherish certain inalienable human rights and state obligations such as the right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness; the right to acquire, possess and defend property; the provision of security; and the establishment of good and just government based on the consent of the governed; Whereas in practical demonstration of these beliefs, our people settled in other parts of Nigeria, served their country in many capacities, and contributed immensely to the growth and development of Nigeria; Whereas we are living witnesses of injustices and atrocities committed against Eastern Nigeria, among which are the premeditated murder of over 30,000 of our innocent men, women and children by Northern Nigerians, the calculated destruction of the property of our sons and daughters, the shameless conversion of two million Eastern Nigerians into refugees in their own country, all this without remorse; Whereas in consequence of these and other acts of discrimination and injustice, we have painfully realized that the Federation of Nigeria has failed, and has given us no protection; Whereas in spite of these facts, the Government and people of Eastern Nigeria have persisted in their efforts to find a practical and just solution that would preserve the continued existence of Nigeria as one corporate unit and restore peace and confidence as demonstrated by the initiative of our Military Governor in getting all the military leaders together at Aburi, Ghana; Whereas the hopes which the Aburi Agreement engendered have proved to be misplaced and have been destroyed by a series of acts of bad faith and distortions and finally by a refusal on the part of the >Lagos Government= to implement these and other Agreements notwithstanding the fact that they were freely and voluntarily entered into; Whereas the Federation of Nigeria has forfeited any claim to our allegiance by these acts and by the economic, political and diplomatic sanctions imposed against us by the so-called Federal Government; And whereas the object of government is the good of the governed and the will of the people its ultimate sanction; Now, therefore, in consideration of these and other facts and injustices, we, the Chiefs, Elders and Representatives of all the Twenty Provinces of Eastern Nigeria, assembled in this Joint Meeting of the Advisory Committee of Chiefs and Elders and the Consultative Assembly, at Enugu this 27th day of May, 1967, we hereby solemnly: A. Mandate His Excellency Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, to declare at the earliest practicable date Eastern Nigeria a free, sovereign and independent sate by the name and title of the Republic of Biafra. B. Resolve that the new Republic of Biafra shall have the full and absolute powers of a sovereign state, and shall establish commerce, levy war, conclude peace, enter into diplomatic relations, and carry out, as of right, other sovereign responsibilities. C. Direct that the Republic of Biafra may enter into arrangement with any sovereign unit or units in what remains of Nigeria or in any part of African desirous of association with us for the purpose of running a common services organization and for the establishment of economic ties. D. Recommend that the Republic of Biafra should become a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, the Organization of African Unity and the United Nations Organization. E. Recommend the adoption of a Federal Constitution based on the new provincial units. F. Re-affirm His Excellency's assurance of protection for the persons, properties and businesses of foreign nationals in our territory. G. Declare our unqualified confidence in the Military Governor of Eastern Nigeria, Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, and assure him of our unreserved support for the way and manner he has handled the crisis in the country. So help us God. compiled by Nowa Omoigui https://www.dawodu.com/erca.htm 5 Likes |
