These kinda structures are common in places where land parcels are sold per square meter and not defined dimensions in plots, acres and hectares.

Anyone could just buy as little square meters as one could afford and build any structure on it. The structures are often verticals so as to untilize the air space which the limited land space can not provide.

The amount used in buying the land is higher than the amount used for building the house.
