Another one had been pulled down in Belgium. He was even their king. So, let yorubas pull down tinubu status down if truely black lives matter.

In Nigeria, no life matters.

Are you sure about this? Because if that is the case, FFK needs to be shamed for this defamation of the woman. It would be a big shame because this news has really gone viral.

100% sure I have read over 20 books on the topic. The slave trade started proper in the 1600, while madam Tinubu was born in 1810, There was already the 1st industrial revolution, it cost less to buy a machine than import slaves

People that naturally love slavery. You see them all over the Oshiomhole-Obaseki threads laboriously trying to "lecture" the rest of us as to why godfathers should be worshipped and not fought against.

Maybe

hollah123:

After the war they have lost everything so Awolowo decided to help them with 20 pounds each to start their lives again.

Awolowo's words doesn't match your claim.

"I laid down the principle that all those who had savings in the banks on the eve of the declaration of the Biafran war or Biafra, will get their money back if they could satisfy us that they had the savings there, or the money there. Unfortunately, all the banks’s books had been burnt, and many of the people who had savings there didn’t have their saving books or their last statement of account..."

So it wasn't a matter of charity to start their lives as you say. But a matter of records - if they were burnt by the war or arson to destroy the records like the office that conveniently caught fire in Abuja the night after they were asked to provide records of covid 19 paliatives disbursement.

One thing I admire in FFK is his grasp and understanding of history. Aside that he's still a loudmouth.

Kudos to him

Kudos to him for what exactly? The slave trade still continues. Today young educated Africans voluntarily go to Europe to work at sweat shops. What about our new slave masters, our politicians including FFK? He should be pulled down too.
Why talk as if slavery has ended?

FFK may be a loudmouthed GADFLY but if and if records clearly and truly show that late Madam Efunporoye Tinubu was a FACILITATOR in slave trade system that kidnapped Africans from their villages and sold them into slavery in foreign lands, then her statue should be pulled down immediately.

It means Madam Efunporoye Tinubu was part of system that took late George Floyd's foreparents to US in the first place thereby making his murder possible.

It means that Madam Efunporoye Tinubu is no different from that murderous white Minneapolis policeman that killed George.

It means at times like this, Madam Efunporoye Tinubu should in the trial dock of the court of time.

Now, a sensible person have said something sensible. Others attacked FFK for saying the obvious truth just like the way they love attacking Nnamdi Kanu for revealing the evils in this country and calling for drastic change. Little minded slaves always in love and romance with their masters and fighting their liberators.

This fani kayode is a mere online entertainer.
Let him and his family lead the protest for once.
He was a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for many years, why didn't the idiot pull the statue down then?

You're the slave who's in love and romance with his master and fighting his liberators. You condemned the buyer of slaves but preserved the seller. Are you not a hypocrite?

FFK is interested in opposite side of the woman. She was a worrier and a patriot. Apart from using her wealth to aid the development of her birthplace and place of residence, she contributed to Egba people victory against the Dahomey in Egba/Dahomy war. FFK is just trying to paint the woman as a villain just to score cheap points.

She was only after her self interest and I don't see why we should apply double standards to her trading slaves because she is black.

If the average Nigerian was educated we would have done that since. We also don’t need stupid thieving ex-politicians telling us what to do. If he wants that statue down then he better leave his comfy abode in Abuja and do it himself. He can’t claim Black Lives Matter if his concubine bleached out all forms of melanin from her and his kids’ skins.

You ever wonder why her name survived many centuries and exists untainted till the present day? It's because she was great and loved by her people.
Maybe she's worthy of condemnation if most of us backlashing her can at least achieve for ourselves and nation one tenth of all she achieved for herself and tribesmen.

FFK is right on this one... Madam Tinubu is one of the architects of today's problem... she made wealth from selling her own people. Funny Lagos state is still under the bondage of her descendant.
She is not worthy to be immortalized...and to think of present day Tinubu influencing the appointments of traditional rulers... we lost our values the moment he took over the job of the gods.
Check history of our 16th, 17th century leaders...they went to war and fought for the interest of their subjects... Queen Amina.. Lisabi etc comes to mind. Same cannot be said of our present day traditional leaders...reasons being that our traditional stools have been compromised

King Leopold II of Belgium has statues and is still remembered fondly despite what happened in the Congo 'free' state. Horrible people get remembered because the people remembering them were not affected by their actions or simply didn't know.

Maybe in the future there will be statues of Shekau all over Nigeria.

If you watch videos of how white people and their police treat black people in the last 10 to 400 years... you will know that madam tinubu protected the Lagos from an european invasion and did not sell slaves. why would she sell able bodied men/women who will protect her? doing that will weaken her and the people loyal to her would have turned against her and killed her.

madam Tinubu never sold slaves. she killed the europeans and messed them up, the europeans are too ashamed to admit defeat.

If haiti revolution wasn't popular F:rance would have said Haiti sold slaves. grin grin grin

When a lie is told recurrently,it seems like the truth. Like the deductive reasoning up there.

If you dare, show a credible link to a book which states all these.

Proof that blacks sold fellow blacks for profit. And calls to stop slavery came from the white man. Shame! And in the 400 years of slavery the blacks never protested or fought for their rights. Docile people......

Chains and handcuffs are not only the tools of enslaving.

Brainwashing and spreading propaganda on the media too also enslaves and brainwashes too.
