Okay, just imagine the blunder you just committed because you did not think before typing. All you were rushing to do was to justify having Chinese institute our university then you said that your brother said that no one drove him out of his house in China. You people are playing with fire. The Confucius Institute is well-known to be linked to the Chinese Communist Party, which is a Chinese state Propaganda machine. This is horrible. I assert, that Nigerian schools should teach world history; ask Taiwan Hong Kong, Mongolia, for advice, they will all tell you to run far 2 Likes |

xpool: I don't know how to break this down for you , Enyi. All your reasons for rejecting this institute are sentimental, policies on grand scale are not made on sentiments. China and America has been fighting cold war for years yet they do business together. I am glad you are no where near decision making in Igbo land. Your type can be disastrous in leadership. I know you studied French at least at primary school level, what was the aim? Presently in Nigeria there are 10 Alliance Française institutes in Nigeria. Has it turn Nigerians to French slaves. What exactly is the impact of French institutes in Nigeria culture. In Nigeria, you can learn french at the Institut français du Nigéria in Abuja or in one of the Alliance Française in Maiduguri, Jos, Kaduna, Ilorin, Ibadan, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri or Enugu. Why do people go there? Not only French but a lot of German, Russian even Italian learning centres dot the landscape of Nigeria, has it turn us to their slaves? If yes, then what difference will a Chinese confucius institute make. Why chose one slavery and leave out the rest. The only reason you got emotional about this is that guys from the west came in with their usual deceit to downplay this institute and make mockery of Ndiigbo as usual. They know their target and unfortunately you were among those who swallowed it hook line and sinker. Watch out the day something interesting will be written about the other Chinese institute in Unilag. They will boast about how they get to attract the best foreign goodies because they are accommodating and sophisticated. That is the day you will hear about how good it is to learn mandarin. Open your eyes oga. Igbos are victims of xenophobic attacks in many places, but we can't shut our doors on international relations. We can't cry of marginalisation in Nigeria and still shut our doors to international opport unities that came to our doorsteps. We know China like the back of our hand. No other tribe in Nigeria has interacted with them more than us, so what is wrong in giving our young ones who wish to learn this language an opportunity to explore their world. Would it had been better if young igbo students travel from the east to Maiduguri or lagos to learn mandarin. Sometimes leave sentiments aside and face reality. 3 Likes |

gwafaeziokwu:I did not give you an assignment to write such epistle. Be that as it may, in international relations, nations relate with "allies" not "masters" based on common mutual benefits, including respect. Nations time to dish out sanctions upon sanctions in different dimensions, including certain boycott when such relationship is rubbished, and that is the beginning of respect for such nations. South Korea, Argentina, India and Pakistan did not grow by turning the other side of their chick when slapped. America is not in any cold war with China, it had always been more of trade wars. Because others are doing something does not make it right. The way you react to disrespect and abuse reflects how you will be treated in future. Since you are willing to be a slave to more masters just to spite others, then you are not human enough. When Aba women resisted taxations, how other women from other tribes did that? When Igbo's fought for self rule, his many other tribes did that. Black race is the most relegated of all races, because fickle beliefs like yours. Every race and continent has nuclear weapon, except the black race of course. Thanks to the weakness of mind of people like you. For long I and others had advocated that Igbo's and any other people that is under the incessant attacks of Fulani herdsmen , to boycott buying and eating Fulani cattle, but people like you see at as a no go. Nations grow and mature into the league of developed nations by resisting insults, abuse, cheating and oppression, not by swallowing insults and abuse for crumb. Is there any "Amadioha Institute" in any China tertiary institution? We cant continue swallowing pukes in the name of business. 1 Like |
