Jogging is an effective exercise that can help you lose weight, especially if you are just starting off on your weight loss journey.
However, no exercise on its own is effective for weight loss if you are not eating right. Therefore if you have been jogging for a while now and you are not getting weight reduction results, you may want to check out what you are eating and how you are eating. Not eating right can be a major impediment to weight loss.

Consistency is another key factor that determines how much weight you lose from an exercise, if you someone that jogs once a week, you may never lose a noticeable weight especially if you are not eating clean and healthy.
Another reason is probably that you have hit the weight loss plateau: Continuous repetition of an exercise over a period of time makes it less effective for weight loss. When your body is used to an activity, it uses less energy to do it. In this case, you may want to increase your pace and intensity and also distance covered.

Lastly, you may want to include strength training in your weight loss plan. Building lean muscles is a good way to expend fat because muscles burn calories even at rest.
So even if you are a lady looking to lose weight, you should factor in resistance /strength training in your exercise plan. You do not have to worry about becoming muscular as the female body does not produce enough testosterone to make you that muscular.
