i think you may have missed my point. He attributed the the low that rate of Ghana to their hot weather condition, I was only wondering why it’s not so in the case of Kano
Okay, now I understand.

I am not surprised though. Many Lagosians now see covid19 as a scam and have not been adhering to laid down safety measures.

I entered a public transport today to Victoria Island and i could not believe my observations. The bus; a Danfo carried full capacity
and was able to pass two police checks. The driver only dropped tips for them and that was all.

But the scary one is that out of the 14 of us(including the driver and the conductor) only three of us were on nose masks. Even one of the passengers was advising me to connect my brain back and stop wearing the nonsense mask as corona is a scam that NCDC is using to cash out.

I just hope that the general attitude displayed by Lagosians on Covid-19 will not put us into a big mess.

Corona is real.. lets stay safe

Everyone knows that Corona is real and do exist, but the THRUTH is that it is damn OVERATED in Nigeria.
The figures & media reality is far from the actual physical reality.

Babatunde7109:

[Total Confirmed Cases (TCC); Total Recovered Cases (TRC); Total Death Cases (TDC); and, Total Active Cases (TAC)]

TCC = 17,735 | TRC = 5,967 | TDC = 469

To get TAC;

TCC - TRC + TDC

= 17,735 - (5,967 + 469)
= 17,735 - 6,436

TAC = 11,299

It's almost 4 months now, and our TAC is 11,299. Wow! That's mind-blowing.

From the time we had the first case in Nigeria, every single individual who believes in the existence of the virus, speculated on how the virus would spontaneously overwhelm Nigeria in few months to come. Now, the month of June, 2020, is moving towards an end and our TAC is currently pegged at 11,299. To some extent, with our undernourished healthcare systems, we have done really well. Considering the U.S. situation - where they have the best of the best healthcare systems but are still overwhelmed, soaked by the virus, we can really credit the situation here - in Nigeria.

With this feat, if the Nigerian government reconsiders another lockdown, then I can boldly say we have a clueless, selfish govt. (I have already been saying that lately though). I wonder, and ponder, on how long an irresponsible and irresponsive Nigerian government could keep its hungry, angry subjects on lockdown. Definitely not for long, because they don't have the empathy and generosity to fill the gabs - meeting the needs of their subjects to a bearable extent. When this can't be put in place by the govt, the subjects won't take 'lockdown' as a place - perhaps, a place of assured safety.

[Our income isn't what we really earn, but what we have after deducting spendings from what we earn. That's what defines what we really are.]

The govt can't continue to react on the spike in new cases alone, without giving due consideration to the number of recovered cases, and death. COVID-19 isn't a death sentence, and I don't think it should be treated as such. Reconsidering another lockdown in the country is a typical fact of making the virus seem like a death sentence. Lockdown is really not a solution, but a problem to complement another problem. Lockdown is never a solution, the plan to move on (with the virus) is.

In a fierce war, if you hide and still get killed, what's your gain?
I get it. Economy, livelihoods, frustration. But we still have to deal with the virus. And Nigeria for now, it has shown no sign of slowing down cos we have all the necessary ingredients for it. And at this point another lockdown would seem kind of futile.

I have doubts on the number of fatalities,
Our neighbours ghana with close to 13,000 cases recorded only 66 deaths while we're counting close to 500 deaths with 17,700 cases?
Something is wrong somewhere but time shall tell!
Comparing Nigeria to Ghana in the management of this pandemic is laughable. Do you know what Ghana did during their lockdown? Do you know Ghana has less doubting fools than Nigeria? Do you know Ghana has steady electricity compared to Nigeria epileptic electricity?

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT SHOULD CONTINUE TO BOW TO WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION ( WHO ) antics AS they do not have a brain or mindset of their own.

Rather than go and look for a homegrown solution in tackling the virus.

They keep waiting for WHO guidelines ON THIS AND THAT !

What Nonsense !

BEFORE OUR VERY EYES MADAGASCAR found a homegrown solution to their coronavirus health challenges.

Meanwhile, federal government is waiting for Vaccines from China and Europe.

I have not been hearing much lately from the Minister of Health, Mr Osagie Ehanire.

BOSS MUSTAPHA through his connivance with Buhari seems to be SIDELINING the Minister of Health in most of the federal government policies.

Which experience did BOSS MUSTAPHA had in MEDICINE for him to be speaking about this serious health issue.

Meanwhile, Buhari is hiding away from the press.

NIGERIA GET BIG PROBLEMS O !

Russia is colder.... Even colder than UK, US. But they have lower fatality even than Nigeria.

So it isn't about weather

It's actually underrated because we've not even tested 0.5 percent of the population. UAE by contrast tested 30 percent of their population.

Thank you dear. And with that accelerated testing efforts, UAE has been able to put the virus under control. You observe their figures in the past few days have been dwindling. There are no other short cuts to achieving that. Instead of people to scream for increased testing they are screaming scam, as if they see one they can recognize it. So annoying. I have seen your hand work on this forum trying to educate those who care. Keep it up please. Some comments show that some folks don't even know next to nothing about happenings outside their immediate environment.
In a pandemic of such global proportion a country the size of yours is reporting in multiple thousands and they are here doubting 587 which can be obtained in just one community if adequate tests were carried out undecided

Brazil's estimated population is 212m and Nigeria's is 205m. Brazil reported in one day 31,000+ new cases and Nigeria 587.
True, the rate of spread may not be at the same tempo, but this data tells one thing: Nigeria is not doing enough testing at all. Although Brazil has conducted about 1.7m tests (still considered inadequate), Nigeria's less than 100,000 tests are abysmally disproportionate and appalling. We are acting as if we are not battling the same pandemic angry
