WTO accepts nomination of Okonjo-Iweala as DG despite opposition from Egypt

AFRICA UNION IS NOW WTO THAT HAVE ALREADY ACCEPTED HER APPLICATION.

I KNOW HER EMERGENCE AS DIRECTOR WILL COME WITH ALOT OF PEOPLE IN PAIN.

AND ALL THIS NOISE WILL ONLY HELP HER GET THE JOB BECAUSE WTO DIRECTOR IS NOT AFRICAN BUSINESS, WITH THEIR AFRICAN CORRUPTION.

Does it matter? AU is not WTO and their action on this matter does not count...THIS IS AU internal politics they will now present the Egypt guy and. Nigeria can head it alone along with other Africa countries that agrees with her on this......AU won't go to WTO voting as a united block, Nigeria needs a lot of politicking to further divide the ranks of AU and get individual members to support.

Though there will be consequences in the future if Nigeria trotters along on this. especially when they need consensus and support on other international engagements that require AU support

It show's how Egypt is desperate for this and how funny AU is for disqualifying their own special envoy on COVID-19

AS LONG AS EGYPT CALL THEMSELVES ARAB REPUBLIC, WE WONT ALLOW THEM STEAL AFRICA SLOT FOR THE ARABS.

LET THEM WAIT ARAB TURN.

IT IS TIME WE START GETTING REAL WITH OURSELVES.

Nigeria is an integral part of AU, and certainly wouldn't want to go solo on this even though there is no rule stopping her. It is not a do or die affair, there will be other bigger opportunities in the future that Nigeria will need the support of AU. So Nigeria going against AU resolution in this would be tantamount to one defecating on the narrow pathway to the market square, on his way back, he will have to make conscious effort not to step on his own excreta.

NIGERIA GOVERNMENT ALREADY NOMINATED HER, SHE HAS BEEN ACCEPTED BY WTO.

THE WORLD WILL LOOK AT THEIR CREDENTIAL AND VOTE THE MOST QUALIFIED.

HOW MANY COUNTRIES IN AFRICA, VERSUS THE WORLD.

NGOZI ALREADY HAS NIGERIA AND SOUTH AFRICA, MAYBE ETHIOPIA, IN THE BAG, JUST SMALL CAMPAIGN AND SHE WILL GET ENTIRE REGIONS.

I WILL URGE HER TO GO AFTER FRENCH CENTRAL AFRICA, WITH CONGO AND ANGOLA AS TOP TARGET.

RWANDA, KENYA AND TANZANIA ARE ALSO VERY IMPORTANT.

Chai I used to think Nigeria was a super power when it comes to AU matters now look at us.
That was in the 2000s during obj era. Nigeria was so influential in Africa then, we par took in many different peace keeping in Africa which earned us alot of respect. About four different AU summits were held in abuja in those times. Obj emnerged AU chairman about three times sef

Buhari has destroyed our reputation. Hv u ever wondered why Nigeria has never host any AU summit or international conference since his inception. Incompetence!!

Nigeria will respond to the AU position and that response is important regardless of the weight / significant of AU position. Every diplomatic action sends a signals which demands a response.

Oh lord, Nigeria is to be blamed na. AU is not Nigeria where we break laws and rules anyhow. So, AU should break thier own law for Nigeria?

So that there will be crises in the future abi? When u set rules which Nigeria is aware of and part of, you should try and keep to it.

I don't know why we carry this our Naija mentality of breaking laws and expect every other country to do same. Rubbish.
