WAIT FOR THE VOTING TO BEGIN BEFORE WE KNOW WHETHER AU REJECTED HER FOR THE ARABS IN EGYPT.

WILL THE ARABS EVER ALLOW AN AFRICAN TAKE THE TURN OF THE MIDDLE EAST?

GO TO LIBYA, YOUR BLACK ASS ARE SOLD IN OPEN MARKET AND OUR WOMEN RAPED FOR BEING BLACK AFRICANS TODAY.

I REASON VERY WELL, BUT THE PROBLEM IS GETTING OTHERS TO REASON WELL.

Does it matter? AU is not WTO and their action on this matter does not count...THIS IS AU internal politics they will now present the Egypt guy and. Nigeria can head it alone along with other Africa countries that agrees with her on this......AU won't go to WTO voting as a united block, Nigeria needs a lot of politicking to further divide the ranks of AU and get individual members to support.

Though there will be consequences in the future if Nigeria trotters along on this. especially when they need consensus and support on other international engagements that require AU support

It show's how Egypt is desperate for this and how funny AU is for disqualifying their own special envoy on COVID-19

Are the other candidates not Africans too?
So you prefer Nigeria to break AU concensus decision here and count on outsiders but when it comes to ADB you'll keep shouting that Africans should unite and ignore outside opinion.
Hipocryte!

NOI is still a candidate for the WTO job.but there will be no block vote from africa.still her global visibility can present better chance than afrian solidarity as all countries of the world are voting.

Why didn't the Benin candidate who is as qualified as the other Nigerian we substituted and also aware of this AU rules complain? Has he not step down to support NOI while his Egyptian counterpart chooses the complaint game rather than compete with NOI?..

Rules or not, this is purely politics and the candidate that will get the backings of the powers that be ( US and Co ) will carry the day....

What matters is for NOI to get the support of the powers that be in WTO schemes...every other thing is mere politics..

Hey man you know nothing about international politiking,Nigeria a nomination long ago.but reading the world picture we quickly changed our nomination.permutations and consultations were made so with NOI Nigeria's chances are better now. This is world stage not just Africa thing. After we will settle AU grivances.

Nigeria was once in that position but when an elder start misbehaving they tend to loose respect from everyone. Nigeria leaders are misbehaving. compare all 54 countries in Africa you'll discover that Nigeria is better in terms of size of her economy, population etc. but the series of idiots we have as leaders don spoil everything. As China is giant of Asia so Nigeria is giant of Africa but our leaders don spoil am for us

Egypt been able to convince the AU guys. It is clear that okonjo is the best candidate, and their candidate can't beat okonjo.
But what they should ask themselves is that, will their candidate be able to beat other candidates from other regions?
Buhari should do something, thats why I like OBJ, man na pure diplomat and authority

The best thing to do is still present ngozi, look for support of other African countries, I am sure countries outside Africa will still support njozis nomination, it is not compulsory to go with a consensus candidate.
Ngozi has contacts of all these Liberia and co president too. I am sure

What are her achievements in international trade?

AU's memo admitted that Nigeria had the right to substitute it's candidate, but they were critical of the late change of name.

Ngozi's candidacy remains.

That is final.

This reaction from AU is expected but it is not totally damaging for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's candidature. However, intensive diplomatic interactions and clarifications are needed on the part Nigeria to reassure other African countries because we have gone against AU's unity of purpose and key protocol, which Nigeria nominees had benefited from and continues to benefit from.

Let's face it, Ngozi is not any way better qualified than Dr. Fedrick Agah, the former nominee, on field of international trade. Moreover, there is nothing special about Ngozi that would make President Buhari willingly go against AU. The fact is that Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala's candidacy is a product of some developed countries and Nigeria merely succumbed to high level diplomatic pressure or rather, superior argument. It does not guarantee victory for Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala as past elections have shown but it makes sense for Nigeria to offer required nomination platform and support.
