Lagos State is the heritage of Odua nation and not Biafra nation...don't compare Yoruba people with your vagabond and fugitive people in lagos state...Your presence in lagos state is more of a curse than the blessing...
All that you sell are fake things in lagos State.
Am sure if you swear on these statements of yours you will not survive it.
Am also sure that everything you own were produced or imported by the igbos.
Am sure the house you live in n pay rent for is owned by an Igbo.
You probably even work for an Igbo man.
N if u do business am sure you depend more on igbos for patronage cos they are the ones with the cash.....
So u see you practically can’t exist without ndigbos.

Idiot. Do you know me?
Your people came here to survive like any other strangers in the State and nothing more.
That's the reason you see them doing all manners of jobs in Lagos State. Except for the money ritual among you that came here to show off.
Igbo people are the producers of fake things...including fake drugs...that kept on killing them in their region.
Igbo people's presence in lagos State is just like any other tribe presence..in fact, Chinese Indian, American, European presence in lagos State are more blessed than your people...because, your presence in the State is more of a curse than a blessing...

Flood cases in Lagos should no longer be Breaking News. It should only be News when, during the Raining season, Flood/ing was not recorded.

When the time comes., we shall separate the son from the strangers amidst us....keep developing the State for the owners...
You too can as well select a State out of your region and develop it to attract foreign investors all over the world so that you and your people wouldn't have to come to lagos and be selling gala and soft drinks on the third mainland bridge.

Omo. Oloriburuku
keep typing thrash while organ harvesters and skull miners keep overrunning your south western States.. keep doing agbero work in Lagos and don't go back to your Yoruba states to develop it..

You gave an Example and I equally gave an example of a place that share similar topography with Lagos.
if they want to stop thiers they would learn from Netherlands. You dont choose to be a failure bcoz others are failing.

I can almost bet you that there's no one single city in the US that will not experience some kind of flooding on some roads with the kind of rain that has been falling for about 24 hrs. It might not be as bad as Lagos, but a vast majority of them will still have some roads flooded.
It mostly happens in littoral regions, and its always flash flooding. It doesn't even happen during normal rainfall. Kindly read more on flash flooding.

What you have in Lagos is not normal rain fall, it has been raining for almost 24hrs. Atlanta for example is not even nowhere close to any body of water if it should rain like it just did in Lagos, many roads will also be flooded. Houston also easily get flooded like Lagos and they are both close to the ocean. I agree that the water will recede quicker in these US cities but the point is that with this amount of rainfall, almost any city in the world will experience some kind of flooding on some roads.

I knew this would happen, there was no provision for drainage, Nigeria!

Clearing and desilting drainages is a job Nigeria government knows nothing about.

It's done once a year but they don't do it.

Where exactly did you get your points from?

1.With adequate planning, Lagos can be saved from flooding.
2.Lagos is not seated below sea level.
3.Less than 50% of its land were reclaimed.

In fact, all your points are invalid, the problem Lagos has is with the drains and public waste disposal. The drains are too shallow. Netherland is a country below sea level and they found a solution to their problem. They built a lot of water channels, canals and dykes. So if Lagos is indeed serious about tackling flooding, let them follow the Dutchs footsteps.

Attached are pictures if water tunnels in the US. Compare it with what we have in Lagos.
The difference is clear.

And Lagos has the money, but naija politicians will not do the right thing.

They keep pretending as if nature is punishing them.

See the people above me acting as if this just happened today. undecided

When the drainage systems are full of plastic bottles and food wrappers why won't the area be flooded?

Year after year, Lagos does not clear their gutters, yet complain of flood.

Smelly gutters everywhere.

Federal government don't want to decongest Lagos by approving the ibom deep sea port in akwaibom state. They prefer people building houses on water drainage and unfavorable standard and cost of living thereby increasing rates of crime. expect more floods in the coming weeks and months cos you can't cheat nature cos nature it's self is a judge

Well, i get your point. Now think about this, if the United States with their better and advanced drainage system still experience this kind of flooding, imagine what will happen if the same amount of rainfall pours in Lagos. it would be a disaster. Flood would literally swallow up houses and people would loose their lives and property.

No amount of planing can save Lagos when it comes to flooding, because it is seated below sea level. Over 50% of its land are reclaimed.
Climate change will continue to affect Lagos with respect to flooding.

https://m.guardian.ng/news/lagos-coastal-cities-threatened-by-forecast-rise-in-sea-level/

1. This is probably the most unreasonable statement I have ever heard.
Do u really know what is Sea level? That is +/-0. And u mean Lagos is below sea level? So dumb.

2. And again Reclaimed land is normal everywhere in d world and it won't cause flooding cos u dredge sand from ocean deep while pushing the water far into the sea. It's still a closed system.

3. Finally, rising sea levels is a major challenge everywhere in the world especially coastal region. So what needs to be done is proper urban planning and drainage design. Nigerian government are just not serious, hence these flood year in, year out.
