This is a hot debate between Muslim brothers from Yobe state debating on whether it is legal in Islam or illegal to wish Christians happy Christmas.



While some were of the opinion that wishing Christians Happy Christmas is just like wishing someone happy birthday and that did not imply that you recognize and accept Jesus as God. Others argued that mere wishing Christians happy Christmas amounts to recognizing Him as God and should be done by a good Muslim. Though both the opposing and supporting sets do not have any Qur'anic verse to support their arguments.

Muslim schorlars, what do you think?

My second question: is it acceptable in Islam for good Muslims to accept Eid-El-Kabir and Eid-el-Maulud wishes and gifts from Christians?
