Should We Vote For Party Candidacy Or Personality? by hubreality(m): 12:05pm On Jan 30, 2011
The ruling party, Peoples Democratic Party in Nigeria(PDP) have instilled a bit confidence to the world like never before during the recent transparent primaries that emerged Goodluck Jonathan as their presidential flag bearer. A few other political parties had theirs by consensus candidacy for the presidential contest. Well not invariably so with other levels(senatorial, house, governship & council) with all parties on desk, including many alleged imposition of candidates to the electorate.

This thirst for change towards having credible, free and fair elections in 2011 at all levels of government is increasing day by day. Then one may tend to ask, should the registered to vote citizens vote based on party candidacy or proven personality? What are they challenges we must face and deal with?

I will be voting on the basis of the person seeking elective office and not on the basis of party. The shenanigans which Tinubu has just performed in imposing candidates in the primaries in Lagos has re -enforced this view of mine !

Change is constant and this is thick in the air; a credible, free and fair election in Nigeria will be possible as Pro Jega and Dr. Godluck Jonathan will whole heartedly embrace more on the use of 21st century technological approach.

Believe it or not there'll be great surprises. People who thought that it's same share all our money all the way long, sentimental, ethnicity, and religious polity will pay their right dues of public vote denial. With God and Techology this time, they people are eager to watch against any rigging.

I thank God also for Google Map! Though can't capture live in remote areas yet but it has gone wide already.
