What exactly does Nigerian female soldiers do?

They don't go to war front, don't engage terrorists nor engage in virtually any serious combat.

In as much as we don't wish our soldiers to suffer anymore casualty from terrorists, bandits and other criminal groups, it's worthy of note that I personally have never seen a female soldier die or suffer any casualty. Each time the accursed Boko Haram attack our soldiers, the victims who most times suffer fatalities are usually all men.

That brings the questions;

What purpose do female 'soldiers' serve in Nigeria military?

Do they get same salary, entitlements (though meager) like their male colleagues who do the actual fighting, sacrifice and dying � for the country?

Is their a law or provision that excludes them from fighting alongside men since both are soldiers? �

All that I have ever seen our female 'soldiers' do is posing for pictures, slaying in their military uniforms and uploading photos on social media, comfortably in barracks and offices while the men risk their lives.

I might be wrong anyway so Nairalanders enlighten me.

2. Female soldier also "taste" the war front but obviously they are not much on the battlefield. Many works at Comms, administrative dept etc

3. They perform peace keeping missions outside Nigeria and get good badges for distinguishing themselves.

4. They mount roadblocks just as the poster above me mentioned. A particular female officer mount the boundary between Osun and Ekiti State.

Having served in the Nigerian ARMY, I can say few things, maybe 3 (information shouldn't be divulged), some work in officer's mess, in the into section, in finance etc. They actually do work, a lot actually but rarely go to war, why? Because they could get raped etc.

They do not stay long in an office actually and by office I mean, NA finance office (under the supervision of someone), IO, quarter guard etc.

The Nigeria army does not second women to Infantry division. Those in infantry are the ones who fight in the war front. Women can be in artillery, medical team, admin,intelligence or even transport and logistics.
