President Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, nominated 41 non-career ambassadors-designate. The nominations was contained in a letter Buhari addressed to the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, requesting the confirmation of the nominees. Buhari appoints 41 non-career ambassadors Senate confirms 42 career Ambassadors-designate, Federal Character nominee The president’s letter was read by Lawan after the Red Chamber emerged from an executive session on Wednesday.

The list showed that Kano, Kwara and Oyo had three nominees each, two each from Benue, Borno and Adamawa, while the rest, except Abia and FCT, had one nominee each. Here is the list:

The federal government is killing the opportunity of career diplomat by appointing non professional to come into the industry and take their job having gone through the ministry of foreign affairs, school of diplomacy and international relations.

As it stand now, the federal government is giving diplomatic job to their political friends leaving career diplomat with little opportunity.

What is the essence of setting up training for diplomat when the government still go and appoint non career people into their jobs.

No it is really rare to find Yorubas who bear Nimi but check Facebook almost every Nimi is from either Rivers or Bayelsa and almost all of them lives in Port Harcourt and schooled in Niger Delta university or University of port Harcourt

They just bear Nimi no attachment to it just Nimi Yorubas do not bear just Nimi

We have 103 Ambassadors. 59 were retained among which Abia, FTC and few other states while 44 Ambassadors were newly appointed
42 career ambassadors were nominated in May and confirmed by the senate in June.
