The Candidate of Action Alliance, AA in the 2019 Gubernatorial election in Imo State who was later disqualified by the Supreme Court of Nigeria on grounds of double nomination & a returnee to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu has called on the Governor of Imo State, Gov. Hope Uzodimma to shun appealing the Wednesday, 1st of July, 2020 judgment from the Fed. High Court in Owerri ordering the reinstatement of elected Local Council officers who were sacked during the ousted Emeka Ihedioha administration.

The order which described serving Interim Management Committee Chairmen & Members understand the Uzodimma administration as ghost workers, instructed that the sacked LG Chairmen & Councillors elected in 2018 to take over offices of the 27 Local Government Areas across state & further instructed the Revenue Mobilization Allocation & Fiscal Commission, RAMFAC to seize the release of funds to the Imo Joint Account Allocation Committee for the Local Governments.

Ugwumba who called on the Governor to embrace the elected officials of LGA and see them as partners in progress took to his Social Media platform so say;

"While extending my heartfelt congratulations to these great leaders, I also will want to appeal to our Governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodimma to forego his right to appeal this judgement and embrace these officials and see them as reliable partners in driving his vision for the State at the grassroots level as well as helping him to implement our Party's pro-poor policies and programs".

Ugwumba Uche Nwosu also noted that, as the Party APC is going through reconciliation period, respecting the judgement will go a long way in boosting the reconciliation process currently going on in APC, thus strengthening the Party further.

Chief Nwosu expressed strong confidence that these Chairmen and Councillors, while serving the people that elected them shall also be veritable mobilizers for the party at the grassroots.
