EXCLUSIVE: Saraki, Other PDP Leaders Pressure INEC Chairman To Rig Edo Governorship Election In Party's Favour

BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKJUL 08, 2020

Plans by a former President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, and other leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party to rig the forthcoming Edo governorship election in favour of the party had been uncovered.

SaharaReporters gathered that Saraki and others are piling immense pressure on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, to help them ‘deliver’ the state for PDP.

A source in the know told SaharaReporters that Saraki recently reached out to the INEC Chairman through the PDP Deputy National Chairman (North), Suleiman Nazif, on how the election can be rigged in favour of the party.

Nazif, an indigene of Bauchi State, served as Chairman of the Committee on INEC in the 8th Senate.

Despite the pressure, the source said Prof Yakubu insisted that he won’t be involved in manipulation of results to favour any party.

“The INEC Chairman has told them that only the will of the people will prevail and that he has no such powers to rig elections especially with the technology and innovations in place. He told them that he has never rigged elections and is not going to start now.

“Senator Suleiman Nazif, a former Senate Committee Chairman on INEC, has been sent to him by Bukola Saraki on several occasions but he maintained that he can’t get himself involved,” the source said.

Incumbent governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the PDP after he was disqualified from contesting the primary of the All Progressives Congress where he was a strong member before now.

Obaseki's main challenger for the September 19, 2020 governorship election in Edo is Osagie Ize-Iyamu of the APC.

Ahead of the highly anticipated contest, both PDP and APC have continued to accuse each other of plot to manipulate the exercise in favour of their respective candidates.

Everybody knows Obaseki Does Not Stand Any Faintest Of Chance In Winning The Forth Coming Gubernatorial Election...

While APC have been carrying out massive grassroots campaign to sell their candidate Ize IYAMU, to the people...The Pandemic Development Party With His Ugly, Incompetent and Clueless Obaseki are showing videos of Oshiomole, with their Ready Made IPOB miscreants magnifying on the internet.... forgetting that those that will matter that day are the electorates residing in remotes villages of igueben, Esako, Esan etc...

PDP is a cursed Tribal Party...

I’m surprised. The rush to close another thread of same story by mynd 44, with more people calling this fake story for what it is really got me thinking I swear. I’ve been bothered by this question for sometime and will appreciate if anyone can help throw light: is this forum pro APC?
I’ve observed for sometime too
Guess what, this is the thread that will likely make front page.

Modified: hahahahaha like I predicted earlier, this is the exact thread chosen to make front page. Wow!!! The interest this forum serves is now clear to see then.
