@wip7 Hello Sir, My friend's son got admitted to Cyprus International University and travelled from Nieria to North Cyprus Saturday, September 10, 2022 and was sent back from Ercan Airport by North Cyprus Immigration on Sunday on arrival. We don't know what actually happened at the airport or why he was sent back. His tuition deposit was paid and he travelled with all the necessary documents. We have written to the school and called several times for us to get information from them and to know what can be done to no avail. Our mails were not replied and the Africa Regional Manager is no longer picking calls. Please can you help us contact the school to know why the boy was sent back and the way forward? I can forward the boy's documents to you by mail sir Thanks |

paking: Hi, The students will be told the reason for deportation prior to being removed. The immigration room is where new students are typically taken, examined, and questioned. If a student needs to be deported, they are informed, and the airline is given a note explaining why. Therefore, it is appropriate to question the student why he was deported. The university will be in the best position to assist you; please get in touch with them. You can also follow up with the agent if the student came through an agent. Best wishes! |

Hello Prof @Wip7 Can a returning student use OKTB to fly to Ercan from Lagos in case the student permit expires before flying Also, does a fully vaccinated student (3 doses taken in TRNC) still requires COVID test to fly and what other requirements do they need Thanks |
Re: North Cyprus: Part 2 by wip7: 2:19am On Sep 21, 2022 |
dewale1234: Yes, the student must purchase a return ticket and, if at all feasible, have proof of payment for the upcoming semester's expenses. Covid test is no more needed. |

Hello Prof, I booked a flight from Ercan to Abuja thru Qatar airways, but my issue is the transit is through Ankara instead of Istanbul, so i wanna know if it's possible to take this route without Transit Visa, or is it compulsory that i must provide transit visa before they'll let me board! Thanks as i expect your reply boss |

Re: North Cyprus: Part 2 by wip7: 7:56pm On Sep 22, 2022 |
frankemka: Without requiring an entry visa for Turkey, you can fly from Ercan through Ankara to Abuja. The only time an entry visa for Turkey is required is if you need to pick up your luggage outside of the airport. The airline will let you check your baggage directly to Abuja (if your ticket was purchased at the same time showing connection direct to Abuja) if you let them know that is the situation when you alert them at the desk. Generally speaking, if you fly with Qatar Airways, they will transport you to Doha and frequently choose routes and airports that are more convenient and can pick up more passengers. You therefore need not require a transit visa as long as your ticket is directly connecting to Abuja. The airline will check your luggage to your final destination. In case of baggage loss: To claim any money, make sure you have images and proof of the contents of the bag since many times multiple students have lost their luggage via this way. |

Hello Prof @wip7 Does a returning student need to fill the Guvenda Kal again? What exactly will be required Your response will be highly appreciated Thanks |
Re: North Cyprus: Part 2 by wip7: 8:09am On Sep 26, 2022 |
dewale1234: New Rules for Current and New Students traveling to North Cyprus. All incoming new students are required to purchase a return ticket when traveling to North Cyprus. No students will be allowed boarding without a return flight ticket. And for current students, resident or returning students from Syria, Pakistan, Armenia and Nigeria – whose nationality are required to have visa to TRNC prior arrival and any other students whose resident permit are still not complete for the year 2021 -2022 need to book return flights before returning to North Cyprus. Guvende or covid certificate does not exist anymore. |
