That wasn't kidnap, don't let the police and the media take us for fools. She was lodged in a hotel for 15 months! It is a case of taking advantage of an elderly person.

Was the man detained?

Yes, he was detained for six months.

But that Sunday afternoon he made an attempt to escape, people saw and rescued him.

I agree the three tribes make other tribes look bad and the silly part is they want to lump us minority tribes into there proposed country so we can carry there wahala and trauma god forbid
omoharry:
The Igbos' and Yorubas' top the list .I wish the rest of Nigerians could disowned these two greedy tribes that have continued to embarrass us.
They both encouraged thier yahoo friends and hail them for thier success in thier various fraudulent activities and call it hustle .

What is it with oyinbos and love matter Biko?
Over the years now, they have been falling for this same scam.
White people spirit, soul is superior and closer to God. Unconditional Love is an expression of it. Low level people still live with their animal primitive instincts, you don't understand what is it the real, not selfish love. Using and abusing people who loves you, it's showing your own low level. And crime doesn't pay, easy comes and easy goes away. That's why stupid maga oyinbos as you call us live much better than Africans. God, Bible is teaching the right way yet many believe they are smarter than God. Boomerang Karma exists.

I feel it is high time the business of private investigation opens up fully in Nigeria. Imagine opening a private investigation company that does background search on so called lovers, business partners and other people foreigners will like to see in Nigeria. This will be a great business idea, and will save a lot of scams in return. Can this be feasible? Just an idea though.
It exists for a long time. Scammers are in this kind of business, one is talking about love and his friend is offering the investigation services, fake love and fake detective, fake bankers, fake everything. You, as a Nigerian, can you trust a Nigerian Investigation company? Ask yourself.

private investigators rely on database integrity to carry out their research - Nigeria has no centralized database, talk less of integrity of the non existent centralized database - we just have BVN and voters card and that is insufficient - This is the very reason the US Embassy decided to stop issuing immigrant visas to Nigerians, and instead of our government and people trying to seek solution on how to create a central database, we are either trying to pray away our problems or calling the US names and insulting Americans online - EVERY COUNTRY THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING RIGHT NOW HAS A CENTRAL DATABASE OF HER CITIZENS - even this covid-19 palliatives that didn't get to Nigerians is because nothing can be tracked when disbursed. It is easier for the government to say they provided 700 billion naira to Nigerians as palliatives - HOW CAN YOU ASCERTAIN THAT CLAIM WHEN THERE IS NO CENTRAL DATABASE TO VERIFY WHO GOT WHAT - WHEN and HOW?

WE ARE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE AS A COUNTRY - and until Nigeria creates a central database to identify everyone in a heart beat, this country can not move forward

This is why there is fraud everywhere - and convicted criminals can seat at the Senate making laws for the country - all because here is no database to fish out people with criminal past. FOR SOME WEIRD REASONS - I believe a vast majority of Nigerians want it to remain this way - so they can hide their iniquities - what do I know ? grin
YOU ARE RIGHT.

They cannot extradite him .The crime was commited in Nigeria, so he will be persecuted here .However if he had commited the crime in the U.S and ran to Nigeria to avoid persecution, that is when he can be extradited on request by U.S authority.Hope you understand?
Originalsly:

I hear you.... but you should know the US has a way of getting what it wants.... by hook or by crook. This is pretty much holding a US citizen hostage. Bear in mind.... Hush never commited his crime.in the US!
True. First it is getting info from him, his criminal ring, then ruin their business everywhere and getting their money or helping Nigerian police and government to get all their properties and money, then and after all to leave the poor bastards in Nigerian jail or streets, whatever. Why to extradite all? Why spend money, effort to get all the bastards to American jail which has good defense lawyers and is not cheap, only big money criminals maybe worth to extradite them. Small ones, let them rot where they are. This guy is finished, he KIDNAPPED an American citizen.

Was the American woman stupid? I don't think so. She was under juju influence. There are many cases of Nigerian or African women too, guys are using juju on them and hypnotize them making them giving all what they have. This story is one of them. Why this Nigerian woman was giving all money she had to strangers? https://www.nairaland.com/3452914/woman-robbed-n3.2m-uyo-guys

Anybody else who doesn't understand the story? 1. Lures her into the country... who does that? 2. Deceitfully marries her.... deceitfully? 3. Lodges her in a hotel...

all Nigerians online try to do it. Some get lucky because the woman likes to travel.
philiancoop:
2. Deceitfully marries her.... deceitfully?
Yes, first offering so much "real" love, then damaging her real perception using juju, hypnosis, some potions. I even heard how between Nigerian guys abroad, they are asking to bring them from Nigeria the liquid to use in sex to attach the woman and make her his slave. She came to meet him yet she started to be his slave giving him her credit cards, bank access, income access and marrying him having a very clouded mind. She is an old lady, if you remember, and she came falling in love online, she believed him his love is genuine, she was scammed emotionally and financially.
philiancoop:
3. Lodges her in a hotel...
Yes. Coming to Nigeria she probably relied on his help to choose the hotel, he did and then telling her to stay inside, not going out because crime, kidnapping or danger to walk alone, then all the juju and hypnosis stuff. Who am I explaining, in Nigeria you all know how it works but even in forum you try to cover up the scam and crime.

In Nigeria? I don't know. So why Nigerian police arrest ritual groups or people. In US black magic is persecuted by FBI.

Again are you defending the scammers? Are you one of them? They all are criminal and black magic / juju users and they all die young in disgrace.

I understand it. I know women with a very similar story and for the same reason, they traveled to meet, to help the Nigerian friend or beloved (not all are about sex and marriage, some just want to help to such a nice guy) and ended up badly used, mistreated, drugged, poisoned and even killed, scared. This kind of guys like in this story are criminals with no heart, all they care are drugs, parties, drinking and many women.
