Godswill Akpabio: The Hunter That Has Become The Hunted part1





When I was an infant, I love fairytale and I could give my meat to anyone who would give me such story book to read.

Along the line, I pondered upon a story about a renown hunter who was known for always making great hunts. Where he hailed, there were some other great hunters who were good at what they do, but the man, Nkandi was the best and no one could be compared to him.

At a time, he became an ally to the King because of his great hunting skills, and he could meet up to the King's target at every point in time without excuses.

On one faithful day, there was a decree by the Chief Priest that no one should go near the evil forest for fear of the unknown. Nkandi thinking all days were the same flawed the order, took his hunting gun and zoomed off for his normal daily hunting. At the end, he became the hunted and meat for the evil spirits. Same is the the fate of Godswill Akpabio today.

Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, a former Commissioner, Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senate Minority Leader, and presently the Federal Minister of Niger Delta Affairs throughout his political sojourn has assumed the position of an hunter.

Wherever he finds himself, he must hunt at the people who present opinions that are dissimilar to his own. He believes that as a leader who knows his onions, everyone must be subjected to what he thinks, even right or wrong and hence, anyone who expresses his/her dissatisfaction in the face of his unguided principles automatically becomes a rebel.

Because throughout his childhood days, he was a mass server, he understands several Bible portions better than some preachers today. This, he believes that whoever shares a diverse opinion to his own is a rebel, and the commandment clearly stated in Exodus 22:18 must be deployed in such person accordingly, because same lineament is compared to that of a witchcraft as seen in 1Samuel 15:23.

As governor of Akwa Ibom State between 2007 to 2015, Chief Akpabio ensured that all known and powerful voices were silenced. Everyone was subjected to believe in whatever he believes, stand for whatever he stands for, and kick against whatever he kicks against. He believed that if you're too powerful, you can't be more powerful than more money and if you are, then you can't be powerful than death. I'm not trying to state that Akpabio was death or an agent of death, but his 8years reign as governor of Akwa Ibom State was marked with acute terror. Akpabio throughout these years was an hunter hunting at those who were not in support of his ambitions.

Few years to the end of his reign of terror, he extended his tentacles to Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District where he comes from. The Likes of Dr. Imeh Umanah of Abak LGA, amongst others were incarcerated inorder to seize the Senatorial Ticket to himself without strong opposition. Abak five had one of the major victims of his witch-hunts.

Akpabio shortly after he flawlessly failed to secure a second shot to the Green Chambers of the National Assembly, was appointed Minister of Niger Delta Affairs. Immediately he assumed office, he ensured the resumption of his hunting lifestyle. First, he ensured there was a steady heat until the Niger Delta Development Commission is removed from the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government to his office. Secondly, he ensured that the Presidency was falls for his scam forensic audit which was his only way of hunting the Federal Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi, former MD of NDDC, His Excellency, Nsima Ekere, amongst others.

Akpabio believes that the only force that nominates the Niger Delta region is that from Amaechi's camp, and the only way he could take control of the region is to incarcerate Amaechi and all his loyalists. He didn't know it was out but a matter of time before he knows that he was only basking in the euphoria of unattainability.

Because no fight us devoid of financial misappropriation, the National Assembly after investigating Akpabio's activities as the man in charge of NDDC, discovered that certain disbursement of funds were made without documentations. Instead of Akpabio to use the little time frame he had to put his house in order, he took his hunting gun, greased it, got more fun powder and zoomed off to hunts at the National Assembly Members that called for his probe. Senator Nwaboshi was the first target and after series of dashing hopes, he extended the hunts to not only members of the National Assembly, but some Staff of the Commission who were ready to testify against his futility.

He linked several abandoned contracts to both members of the National Assembly and Staff of the Commission and to worsen his case, his media attack dogs were always at war with anyone who dare to speak against Akpabio's reckless and wanton spending of money in NDDC.

Yesterday, the former Ag. MD of NDDC, Barr. Joy Nunieh was at the National Assembly complex to speak against Akpabio's futility. In her speech, she stated emphatically that Senator Godswill Akpabio on several occasions had threatened her to sign several documents and to also swear an oath that she'll speak in his favor when the time comes. Because she disagreed, Akpabio started hunting at her to an extent that unknown miscreants alleged to be Akpabio's thugs went to cause mayhem on people while the interview was still ongoing. Yes!! This is the Akpabio that we know. A man that will always want to get whatever he want at any cost.

Today, the unfolding of these pitiful scenarios has uncovered Akpabio's dirty games in NDDC. Indeed, Akpabio, the hunter who intended to hunt at others have become the hunted with his gun. He has become a food for the gods.

over ambitious already kill this man.. majority of people see him as responsible man while he was in PDP, he was eyeing Senate president position hoping to secure the seat when he switched the APC now see what is happening to him ..
