Now, the south East lawmakers are also pushing for a bill to create a similar commission for them and the south West too.

Now, what's the special privilege the Niger Delta are enjoying with respect to their oil, if every region gets devt commission?

If the SW and the SE successfully get their own commission, the remaining two regions in the North will start clamouring for theirs too.

In my opinion, these so-called devt commissions will only be avenues for grand corruption like it's currently going on in the NDDC, with very little to show for the billions budgeted for them.

I hope Yoruba lawmakers can wake up to see the realities on ground. We asked for South West Development Commission due to pressure from influx of economic refugees but South East lawmakers especially shut down the move.

If SE that contributes less than 10% of revenue should move for any Development Commission, South West must first get SWDC to develop the region contributing over 65% of government revenue.

SS and SW are the only region that supposed to get a development commission in Nigeria.

North East and North central are the Make ups of Nigeria.

How's the south West contributing most? Do you know that the FG is even favouring Lagos by sighting a lot of government agencies headquarters there, which in turn provides massive employment to the residents? What natural resources is in the SW?

Hello, don't miss the point of this thread. I'm saying that there's no need for a Devt Commission for any other region aside the SS. They're the only ones that merit it, even though their NDDC instead of using the allotted funds for infrastructure projects, channel it to bribe their traditional rulers, youth groups and militants, which Dr Joy Nunieh said she refused to do.

Tell SouthEast lawmakers to fight for their cause alone.

SouthWest had Oodua Investments, which was a devt program. Now we have DAWN. Both are self managed and has no interference from FG.

This is how we like it in SW. We dont want a Federal Devt Plan.
