Initial trials on ESOMARON was carried out by the World Health Organization (W.H.O), through the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD), Abuja, Nigeria.

ESOMARON is an immuno-modulator with beneficial effects in the management of viral infected, auto-immune and immune-compromised patients. ESOMARON demonstrates as a potent stimulator of the immune system. It acts via three (3) mechanisms:

Ø Strong anti-viral and anti-biotic properties.

Ø As an ‘antigen specific response’ whereby antibodies can interact the invading micro-organisms,

Ø As a ‘non-specific immune response’ which involves scavenging and destruction of invading micro-organism with micro-phage cells, making it effective against a variety of viral infections

The composition of ESOMARON includes Andrographolide.

ESOMARON has been used to treat respiratory infections. In one study, it was used to treat 129 cases of acute tonsillitis. The same authors used ESOMARON to treat 49 pneumonia patients. In another study, ESOMARON was used to treat 111 patients with pneumonia and twenty with chronic bronchitis and lung infection. The overall effectiveness of treatment was 91%.

ESOMARON is currently used to treat various auto-immune diseases such as Psoriasis, etc.

With the recent outbreak of the deadly coronavirus, COVID-19, ESOMARON is being used to treat various cases. From the United States of America to Nigeria, all treated cases have returned Negative.
