They obviously lack calcium. I run a farm too. it happened to the turkey I booked last year. they legs suddenly became too weak for their body. I met a vet.doc who recommended some drugs. I'll contact as soon I remember the names

-Give them calcium and multivitamin supplements in their drinking water for five days( 5grams in 4litres of drinking water) to prevent other non affected birds from getting it
-Tie the legs with a small piece of cloth to prevent further splaying (NB: the legs can never go back to normal but this stops it from worsening), the tie should be done in such a way that the it is nt too tight on the leg and provides space in between the two legs to enable it walk and stand, with time the bird will adjust.
-Ensure sufficient bedding in the floor especially if u r operating deep liter system( I will recommend Saw dust) as lack of beddings in poultry easily predisposes birds to such condition.

From what OP said, a couple of birds there have this prob. U can as well ask for all of them so u I can cook stew, then eat chicken and watch him cry as he loses his investment.

Sorry about that bro, I think from the onset you should have started rearing them with bagged feed from a reputable feed mill before changing over to your formulated ratio, that would have at least reduced the risk of situation like this. I suspect the problem is calcium insufficient.

When I received some 100 birds one time, in addition to my other birds, I saw one had a leg that doesn't straighten, always folded but I followed through my regular routine of nursing my birds, placed all of them on keproceryl and always kept adding Glucose to their water and it worked magic. Can't even recognize the chick again. Chick is enjoying her life!

They are not getting enough calcium..increase their calcium intake and make sure the feeds are small enough for them to eat it well.
