Well, if you were paying attention, they spend that amount on the severely ill patient, which means a patient that is on oxygen and or a ventilator and serious intensive care, which is why it costs so much.

(It's even an underestimate self. Patients who are admitted into a Hospital's Intensive care unit and placed on a ventilator may end up spending much more.)

Lagos has high numbers but we don't see people dropping dead like in other countries undecided

Lagos has a population of nearly 25 million people....and only has 14000 cases.

That's not much, and lockdown measures there might have kept the level of deaths low.

Also, scientists are finding out that 35% of covid patients might be asymptomatic, and only a tiny minority 'die'.

Add the fact that most Lagosians cannot afford a trip to high incidence areas like Europe, and Asia, and that's why many people aren't dropping dead in the streets so to speak.

In the US the rising no of cases can most likely be attributed to the increased testings but in Nigeria is bodmas they use to increase their own, watch closely when US Covid 19 cases starts to drop, NCDC own no of cases would also start to drop although d two countries are oceans apart!

At least 10 million Nigerians are infected with COVID-19.
95% had no serious symptoms and recovered.
from it.
4.995% had serious symptoms but recovered or still receiving treatment
0.005% unfortunately have died.

NCDC has tested only about 1.8% of positive cases.

CDC researchers analyzed the genetic code of virus samples collected from three dozen infected New Yorkers in early March and found that most of these early cases of coronavirus can be traced back to Europe. It also confirms what many researchers have said: New York City is spreading its communities widely through mitigation measures such as travel bans, suspension and suspension orders.
