If you have been trying to get your national ID card, you can now get it with a mobile app on your phone.

NIMC now has what they call e-ID Card. It is a new initiative from NIMC to enable Nigerians to access their national id cards online through a mobile app. Once you install the app on your phone and you are with your phone, your national ID card is with you. If you need it on demand, all you need to do is to bring out your phone, open the app, login with your NIN and your national ID card would display. Unfortunately, this initiative is not working well for Nigerians who want to use their national id cards online especially where they are required to upload it to a website for registrations or for verifying accounts. Since you cannot upload from the app or download from the app. You will only make a screenshot. Another serious challenge that many Nigerians have is that, the passport photos are not displayed on their ID cards.

Have you seen the image of your national ID card in the new app? Are you just looking at your card image but you cannot use it for online accounts? You cannot upload it to the website where you need it for? Or your photo is missing on your ID card. All you need to do is to send us a screenshot of the front view and back view of the card image. We will prepare it for online upload and send back to your email box. If your photo is missing, send a copy of your passport photo preferably with black and white background.

Remember that you suppose to go to any NIMC center to pick up the physical card but you have to wait until you receive an SMS from NIMC to come over for the card but the question is, how long will you continue waiting for this SMS? Will the SMS ever come at all? And you need your national ID card for online transactions. I have enrolled for over three years now and I have not gotten any SMS.
