Nigeria: Asari Dokubo Denounces Kidnappings in the Niger Delta

Asari Dokubo can put an end to the kidnappings of foreign oil workers in the Niger Delta region.

Asari Dokubo can not put an end to the criminally motivated kidnappings in the Niger Delta. Let's stop wishing for what won't happen. As long as those boys have weapons, they will use them to make money. A criminal is a criminal. What criminals do in the US is what they do in Nigeria. Simple solution: catch them, lock them up.

Releasing Dokubo is a positive move; now it is up to these criminals to get hold of themselves. Fed Govt should sit and have discussion with them. They should be allowed to present all their problems and Government on the other hand must put effective plan in place to address all these issues.

Releasing Dokubo is a nice gesture coming from the Fed and a signal that says we are open to work together and make thing right in this area of the country.
I think things will improve if government stays focused and do their part.

It is always nice to change direction, especially when things are not improving. I support the release. It is the right thing to do.

And it is a big victory for the Fed as Asari Dokubo denounces kindnapping. Let's hope for the best.

SEUN, U sound to optimistic. As an activist that denounce kidnapping for monetory gain, dont u think that Asari Dokubo can crank down on all those tanishing the good image of the struggle for personal gain, giving the influence he had gained across all the groups ?
Moreso these factions or groups may have been at one time or the other together in the struggle!

Asari Dokubo is the leader of over 100,000 freedom fighters and he was engaged in security services for the multinational oil companies before he fell out of favour with the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP).

When Asari was not in detention, the foreign oil workers were safer. And he has enough hands to arrest the lawless criminals posing and posturing as freedom fighers in the Niger Delta.

The kidnappings will stop as long as the government will cooperate and support Asari Dokubo to put out the fire in the Niger Delta region.

The Niger Delta is not Iraq.
We are more civilized than the Islamic terrorists.

In my opinion, Asari Dokubo is powerless and has no real control over the occurences in the Niger Delta. His presence today didn't stop what happened down there. My advice to him is shave off those beards because you're not that SIGNIFICANT, probably the reason why he was released. Look at all the significant personalities in prison, no release date set for them anytime soon!

This Dokubo guy should beware of the MEND if he wants to live long. Those boys don't know him, they don't have time for him, and they are not ready to give up millions of dollars in kidnap and bunkering money just because one Joseph Boro wannabe just got out of detention.
