Help! I Mistakenly Forgot All My Credentials In A Cab In Osogbo by engrMikemd(m): 8:05pm On Aug 06, 2020
My spirit is exceedingly troubled as I write this. It happened yesterday (05/08/2020) as I boarded a cab popularly called "Korope" in Osogbo, at Capital/Estate area heading towards Oke Baale, I had a black folder with me which contained all my credentials (original), a charger an a tie. Upon alighting at Oke Baale I mistakenly forgot the folder.
I realised this about 30 - 40 minutes later and since that time I have been looking for the cab. The problem is that I can't recognize the driver and the cab.
I have been to their office at old garage and one of the NURTW officers assured me that their drivers do bring lost items and if mine is among they will call me up.
Right now I am perplexed, petrified and perturbed as all my original copies of credentials (pry school certificate, waec certificate, ND certificate, B.Sc certificate, M.Sc certificate, NYSC certificate, CV, etc) are nowhere to be found.
I am losing my mind already.
Anybody with clues of what next to do should kindly reach out. Jah bless.

E yah. Do you have your contact in any of the documents? you can try to go to OSBC for public announcement because they don't really have organised place to retrieve such item in Osogbo.

Also put out your contact here should in case anybody see it.

I have lost items on public transport about 3times without recovery Since then, what i do is to write my numbers on some of my documents.

I pray u get it. Next time you can write out your numbers on a plain sheet and put it among your documents.

This is not the time to speak grammar.

Just calm down.

God is in control.

If there is no money there, you should get them back.

Just hope the drive sees it and that it's not taken by a Yahoo boy that entered the cab

I have been looking for my certificates for more than a year now.

I even attach a reward of N50,000 to anyone who sees it and gives them back to me.

The reward still stands but no one has found it till date.

The name on the certificates is OTUEKONG UDOSEN AMAMA.

The number to call is 08035321965.
How did you lose it?

How did you lose it?

I was with it inside FG Onyenwe luxurious bus from Aba to Kano.

I kept the bag containing the certificates in the place where bags are kept, directly on top of where I sat.

It was a night journey.

In the morning, I realised that someone had taken it.

May be he/she took it by mistake or purposely, I cannot say.

But I believe he/she must have dumped the certificates somewhere,

when he/she must have taken away the laptop and other useful items that were in the bag.

That is why I plead with anyone who sees the certificates anywhere to call my number 08035321965.

I promise to pay him/her the sum of N50,000 cash.

I really needs the original certificates although I have got the certified true copies of the certificates.

How did you get the certified true copies of your certificates in case I need to get if I don't see mine.

When you get to the university you graduated from,

they will ask you to apply for a certified true copy.

You will apply and attach therewith the photocopy of the missing original certificate.

The school will then stamp the photocopy with their stamp bearing "Certified True Copy"

It can then be used as original.

As for the NYSC certificate, you go to the state that you served and collect a letter from their NYSC secretariat.

You take it to National NYSC secretariat in Abuja(Gowon House) and you will be given a replacement.

But when doing this, you must be very ready to confront anyone(particulary women) who tries to mock or intimidate you.

Most women that are in charge of issuing this certified true copies will try to make you feel sad by mockery.

They will want to delay you and make it appear as if your world has crashed.

They enjoy these things.

In such a situation, you must stand your ground. You can insist that you want to see the very head of that place.

If the very head of the place is a man,he will assist you.

Like NYSC secretariat in Abuja,if the woman in charge start her mockery and delay,

you can insist that you want to see the director general of NYSC

or any other higher male figure.

At the end, every thing will be OK.

You will get all that you lawfully required.

To get a certified true copy is lawful.

It can be really fustrating losing documents and unable to retrieve them. This took me back when I misplaced mine as a young dude

Mine was when I applied for OAU post utme in 2010 and was already getting prepared to sit for the exam when the fustrating moments occurred.....

I was coming from the school (oau) where I went to see a friend who already was a student there and from the school I boarded a bus going to Sabo, from there I'll take a bike to Manchester where I was squatting. I had my file with me which contained my credentials- birth certificate, pry school certificate, waec certificate and some other documents for the exam.

The bus alighted for me to come down but cos my shirt got hooked to some sharp metal on the seat and struggling to remove, I had to drop what I was holding in order to free myself as the passengers were getting impatient.

I got freed but at the expense of my file still in the bus, and also still dazed from the ravening passengers that almost had my neck on a stake for wasting their time (as par say I no be Yoruba boy na).

When the coast was cleared in my head and I was beginning to feel myself, I realised my file was missing. I was perplexed at that realisation, didn't know what to do as I couldn't speak the Yoruba language so well.

I began to tell my ordeal to people around who could understand me and I was told I should go the NURTW office and complain but firstly I resorted to tracing the bus from when I alighted back to the school gate as that was where they loaded passengers from....

It was all a futile journey. I developed fever and my temperature started rising at that spot cos I was having communication barrier with most people there (ah be EDO boy O) and I was very young in age.

Exam was three days ahead and my world was already getting painted with complications. I sluggishly went to the NURTW to report the issue but instead for the man I saw on seat to help with soothing words, I was being mocked and ridiculed. I felt all hope was lost.

The next day I quickly returned back to the office to check if anything was positive for me but I met another caucus of ogogoro looking men who feasted on me like I was some sort of lost kid.

Well, one out of them gave some encouraging words that placated my feverish condition to some level.... He told me I would see it and not worry. I left there for another hours of mind torture and regrets.... I couldn't read again for the exam as the file was more even important than it. Infact give me the file in place for the post utme exam

Three days came and my file was still missing, although I had already printed another registration slip for the exam from the internet just to sit for the exam. I sat for the exam with extreme headache and pain all over my body. One of the invigilators had to ask what was wrong as I was already shaking.

Exam ended and I knew I had failed cos I barely saw what I shaded sef.... The thoughts on how I was going to go around the school with my friend and enjoy myself after exam became an illusion. I left the school with much more a heavy heart and was already thinking how to get another copies of the documents I had lost.

I was still frequent at the NURTW office for hopes of finding the file and even sometimes buy something for few... I stayed more for four days after the exam cos I just couldn't bring myself traveling back to Lagos without my file.

Lo and behold, I found my file lying on the table of the NURTW office when I went back again to check... Oh my God was what I shouted, and I got a heavy knock on the head for it as I couldn't greet anybody when I entered. I collected the knock with a broad smile and prostrated with my full chin on the ground greeting everyone that was either sitting or standing....

My fever disappeared, my appetite resumed, I could feel my bones and teeth, life was becoming meaningful and significant for me again.... The feeling was glorious.

I had to part with some money for the files which I gladly did and disappeared with some much excitement on my face... I knelt down to thank God and after I had the urge to eat something sumptuous. I saw one nice eatery around and there I buried myself with some nice treat

Traveled back the next day but failed the exam as expected.... I cared less about the exam anyways. It was really a hassle of torment through those periods though the document were few but it was my life as at then

To the Op, don't give up just yet, keep asking around how well you can go about it and locate the transport office close by for regular checking and complaint.

I remember one of them told me it was because I was always frequent for checking and complaining that he had to take it upon himself to check for my file.

Goodluck bro
