SUPPORT FOR EDUCATION, BEST INVESTMENT - SEN. UMEH

Senator, Chief Sir Dr. Victor Umeh OFR (Ohamadike Ndigbo) today made a tour of the world-class structures built and donated to Community High School, Akwaeze in Anaocha LGA, Anambra state by Chief Sir Ikenna Kelvin Okafor KSS (Ide Akwaeze) through his Idi Ezeani Nzekwuabuo Foundation.

Senator Umeh however expressed satisfaction over the quality of the facilities installed in the two-storey fully air-conditioned academic building housing standard physics, chemistry, and biology laboratories; fully equipped Ultra-Modern E-library and an ultra-modern multipurpose hall, stores, offices and toilets as well as the construction of borehole, installation of overhead tanks and reticulated water distribution in the school; activation of abandoned 45kva power generator; remodeling, plastering and painting of the entire front school fence and mounting of 2 new big gates and the reconstruction of the school electricity distribution network. He commended Chief Ikenna Okafor for his uncommon benevolence particularly targeted towards the proper education of the students thereby urged the management of the school to make adequate use of the facilities.

In a brief remark shortly after the tour, Senator Umeh described the facilities as standard noting that the laboratories therein can compare with what is obtained in tertiary institutions. Senator Umeh who is akin to similar gestures through his Education Foundation - VUMEF, emphasized the need for more support for education pointing out that "support for education is best investment".

He further seized the opportunity to call on the state's education ministry to deploy experienced personnel to the upgraded institution to ensure the purpose of the project is achieved.

Chief Ikenna Okafor on his part expressed gratitude for the visit pointing out that the gesture affirms Senator Umeh's love for education. He commended the credible performance of Senator Umeh in the short time her served in the Senate urging him never to relent in the good works he is doing particularly in speaking "truth to power".
