Infinix has recently announced a new device of the Smart series; the Infinix Smart 5. Infinix Smart 5 is said to be powered by a Quad-core MediaTek CPU, with almost the same specifications as that of the Smart 4.

The main difference is that the newcomer is armed with a large 5000mAh battery, as well as bootable Android 10.

The Infinix Smart 5 already has separate 3G and 4G LTE versions. The 3G model in African countries are available with a Quad-core MediaTek MT6580 CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. It also comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB in-built storage.

The 4G LTE version on the other hand, is aimed at some Asian pacific countries, such as Indonesia, Pakistan, etc.

It comes with a Quad-core MTK Helio A20 CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz, also armed with 2/3GB RAM and 32/64GB in-built storage.

The Infinix Smart-series phones have gone through the path of basic Android phones, since their inception. After observing the specs of Smart 5, it seems the Smart-series will remain on the list of basic phones for a long time.

As for display, Infinix Smart 5 comes with 6.6-inch screen with 720 x 1600 pixels and a dewdrop notch overhead. Also, the phone has a large 5000mAh battery and runs on Android 10 OS.

The 3G model with 2GB and 32GB internal storage is currently priced under ₦40,000 in Nigeria.

On one hand we have the Infinix Zero 8 Coming with Helio G90T, and on the other Infinix Note 5 with the quad-core Helio A20 by mediatek. Infinix should be launching more phones like the Zero 8 for sure.

It has 4G network according to Gsmarena, though they did not specify which processor is used,maybe the African version will come with the mediocre 6580 outdated chip while other markets will get the 4G enabled version.

yeah but even the Helio A22 and A20 aren't that bad at their price. Ofcourse, we as consumers would want better usage of technology even in budget smartphones. Probably Infinix is also gearing up to start launching powerful phones in the low-end segment with more usage of MediaTek's helio G series processors! expecting good performance of the Zero 8
