Two foreign road contractors working in Edati local government area of Niger state have been kidnapped by armed gunmen.

The Nation learnt that the kidnapped foreigners include one Arab and a Lebanese.

The Foreign road contractors were involved in reconstructing a road from Yekila village in Edati local government area to Tegina when the gunmen struck on Monday afternoon.

According to a Source, the gunmen appeared in their usual manner, on motorcycles shooting sporadically which made other road workers to take to their heels.

However, the Source said that the foreigners were not that fast as the gunmen surrounded them and took them away.

Efforts made to get the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Abiodun Wasiu was unsuccessful as calls put across to him and messages were not responded to.

The Nation also contacted the state Ministry of Works and Infrastructure to ask if they were aware of the incident but they claimed not to have gotten any information of such from any of their contractors.

The Public Relations Officer of the Ministry of Works said that it may be one of the federal government projects going on there as they have not received any information that any of their road contractors have been kidnapped.

North seem to be in trouble and I think the problem is the porous border up north and they seem not to bother bcoz those crossing are Muslims but they don't know it portrays a bad future for them

Over to the special forces! But do we not have local engineers that can construct ordinary roads?

Is this also a genocide against Christians?

Please let's wise up. Don't make yourself a pawn in the hands of politicians in their hustle for power.

I know some people will still find means to express religious and tribal bigotry on this thread.

See them:

And another tribal bigot.

One thing these tribal bigots don't realize is they're harming no one but themselves. It's only a matter of time before they realize. But then, it would be too late for them.

The DSS should invite the owner of Nation Newspaper Mr Thief'nubu to explain why he is reporting this kind of bad news, the Nation should be fined N10m.
What is good for Obadiah Mailafia and Nigeria Info should be good for Thief'nubu and Nation Newspaper wink
