Let us go back to the memory Lane. In August 1962, the Federal Guard (presently known as the Brigade of Guards) was established and ,150 of its initial 200 elite fighters were deployed from Enugu battalion to Lagos. It was the largest battalion in the country with 26 officers and 843 Non Commissioned Officers (NCO's). From the inception of Brigade of Guards between 1962 to 1964.

It was commanded by several officers including Lieutenant Colonel Ogunewe, Captain Mobolaji Johnson (who later became Lagos State Military Administrator), and Obioha before Major Donatus Okafor who was the then Commanding Officer (CO), who was one of the January 15, 1966 coup plotters. When Major Donatus Okafor left for Britain in 1965 temporarily for a course. Captain Joseph Garuba (Yakubu Gowon in-law) temporarily became the Commanding Officer (CO). When Major Donatus Okafor (who was one of the coup plotters) returned from Britain he took over his position.

Please get your facts straight. The Federal Guard was not up to the strength of a battalion. Even the real designated 2nd Battalion unit in Ikeja was not up to the strength of a battalion too.

@Dede1
I appreciate your comment and your maturity.
I mean then (that's between 1962 to 1964) not at present.
Thank YOU!
