BREAKING!!! Many feared Dead As Police Clash With IPOB Members

Several persons have been feared dead on Sunday morning at Emene, Enugu, following a violent clash between the Nigerian police and members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

IGBERE TV gathered that the violent clash threw the whole Emene and environs into chaos and disrupted church services as worshippers of the various churches in the area ran helter-skelter to escape being caught in the crisis.

An eyewitness account said that the trouble started at about 7.00 am when some police officers invaded the Community Secondary School Emene where members of IPOB were meeting, to disperse and arrest them.

According to the account, the attempt was resisted, turning the encounter bloody with IPOB members reportedly overpowering the security operatives.



In a swift reaction, a large reinforcement was called and over a dozen patrol vans loaded with armed security agents comprising police, army and DSS arrived the scene and faced the Biafran agitators.

Sounds of gunfire and teargas fumes filled the area, particularly between St Patrick Secondary School and St Joseph Catholic Church along the old Abakaliki Road.


One account lamented that the premises of St. Patrick Secondary School was “flowing with blood” as fleeing IPOB members were pursued into the school by security operatives.

A whole lot of people within this administration seem to think that a war in the east will provide them with the 'much needed' opportunity to repeat the events of 1966-67 so as to retard the relative progress witnessed there recently... Why not use diplomacy to get them to disperse or at worse just allow them finish their gathering.
When news of the deaths start spreading,instead of cowing other members,it would just harden them the more,besides increasing their otherwise neutral sympathizers.
What ilks people,despite their disagreement with IPOB's objectives is the double standards and hypocrisy displayed by the government.
You parley and pamper recognized,bloody thirsty terrorists and murder peaceful agitators.
You only garner more sympathy for IPOB.

The day this guys will start carrying arms it will be tough for the police.
