Orlando and Peter, Clara’s friends had come to visit. Clara and Victoria, Chiwetel’s older sisters were more reserved than she was. Better than her, like some persons thought, Chiwetel could put different shades of weave-ons on her hair but her sisters stuck to black or colour 33. Chiwetel was a girl who did whatever she desired, her sisters were orthodox, following the normal path. They were heading to marriage at the time Chiwetel was beginning to love. She had forgotten Prince totally in town especially since there was no means of communication. She focused on her studies and her plan of becoming a renowned Lawyer yet there she was, an assistant, quite like messing around. She still put her goal forward while working till he called and reminded her of who she was before the world showed her what to be.
Orlando and Clara were dating. Very good young men, both Orlando and Peter have been childhood friends so everyone knew them together. The three girls and the men were like family, Victoria was the most secretive, she barely told anyone who she was really dating. The three girls had laboured from their uncle’s home till they acquired theirs; they tolled the line of life’s progression.
‘The girls chose to wear all blacks today huh?’ Orlanda threw glancing down the girls rushing to him and Peter.
‘Make it mini-blacks.’ Peter added and they laughed at their short suede gowns.
At the lounge, Chiwetel was engrossed with her phone, texting, smiling or laughing.
‘What’s going on with Chiwetel?’ Orlando asked.
‘She ate mushrooms.’ Answered Peter, starring at Chiwetel like he needed to know more.
‘I hardly know, she has been acting too funny lately.’ That was Clara
‘Maybe she has met a sweet young man.’ Victoria added.
‘This one, meet a sweet young man.’ Orlando jested, they all laughed towards her. Chiwetel only smiled and said, ‘So na una be my God abi? Sweet young men are everywhere, it’s not difficult to get one.’
