50% of crime in southwest are by those people.

Of course, Nduka na yanminri name. The mother and girls are either SS or SE. Over there you dont even need to be man of God, underage girls are money makers, the family turn it to money making venture. Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels example.

You impregnate underage in iboland or SS the parents will be on your side, no police.

CAMA AND CHURCH FINANCES: THE BROADER PERSPECTIVE.

Olasiji Oshin

Issues surrounding CAMA and the Church in Nigeria need to be viewed from a broader perspective than the Nigerian Church leaders are currently looking at it. To start with, I do not understand why the church leaders had to wait until President Buhari signed the bill into law before they began to raise objections to it. No doubt the bill went through normal plenary sessions of open debates in the national Assembly before it was passed. Were there no members of any of the churches in the national Assembly? What is more, the Vice President is not just an ordinary member of a church, he is a Pastor of Redeemed Christian Church. They probably have their reasons.

More importantly, Nigeria, like the U.K. and the U.S. is a democracy. The government, having been elected by the people, has responsibility to protect the interests of all Nigerians regardless of their religious persuasions. The church and state have one common interest: the people. The church caters to the spiritual needs of it’s members, while the state caters to the physical, social and material needs of it’s citizens, including members of churches across the country. In more advanced countries like the U.K. and the U.S. Church and State do collaborate in the provision of what they see as essential services to their people. The Charity Commission, created by government caters to the needs of the disabled, motherless babies, the homeless and the poor.

The church from the beginning has taken the lead in ministering to the needs of the poor and the socially outcast. The work of churches as charitable institutions in Britain and America are well documented in Christian literature. Also the history of Christian missionaries in Nigeria is replete with accounts of their ministry to the poor and social outcasts. Churches in Britain and the U.S. are seen by government as Charities partnering with government in the task of caring for the poor. In recognition of their ministry to this class of people, citizens are encouraged to give to the Church. Those who pay tithes and offerings are compensated at the end of every fiscal year. Tithes and Offerings paid to churches are deductible from their tax to the government. The individual must attach proof of payment in form of written acknowledgement from recognized (licensed) pastor of his church whilst making his annual tax returns.

Money, the love of which scripture describes as the root of all evil, remains the bone of contention in churches, as in other institutions run by humans. To minimize conflicts and ensure church finances are in good shape, the Charity Commission periodically looks into the books of Churches. This in effect helps the churches to be on their toes and to maintain their professed integrity and probity. Unfortunately Nigerian Churches in these countries always fall foul of such demands on them.

What do we find in Nigeria? The Nigerian churches are law onto themselves. Until recently churches operate without recourse to Government. The judiciary occasionally got involved in settling financial disputes in the Church. The church became a platform where people of doubtful characters are free to assemble people together for the purpose of making a living out of the members.

The big established churches engage in business ventures aimed at profit making. Rather than minister to the needs of the poor, the established churches have become burdens to poor people especially in the rural areas. The singsong is tithe, tithe and tithe while Pastors/founders live in opulence, riding exotic cars and private jets. And whereas Malachi which is often cited to justify tithe payment state explicitly: “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple…” (Malachi 3: 10). The storehouse is a central place from where the Levites, the widows and strangers were to meet their needs. The Levites were set apart for work in the Temple, they were exempt from sharing in agricultural land, and so had no source of income. Now where is the storehouse in Nigerian churches? They are the bank accounts of our modern pastors and founders.

This would explain the strong objections from our notable church leaders to CAMA. Did you hear the head of one of the fast growing churches declare that those who fail to pay tithe will not go to heaven? It is appalling! I could not believe this is coming from a notable Church leader that claims to preach the gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ. This is another gospel. It means that faith in the atoning work of Christ on the Cross as the qualification to enter heaven does not matter again. What matters to them is tithe. (Open your Bible and read Gal.1:6, Eph. 2: 8-10 as well as apostle Paul’s letter to the Colossians from chapter one and see the supremacy of Jesus Christ).

This is why the principle embedded in CAMA is welcome. The Church, like the Nigerian nation needs spiritual reawakening. Instead of the Church playing the role of light to the world, the world has taken over the church in Nigeria. As Christ said to the merchants in the Temple, the Church has become the den of thieves, instead of the House of Prayers

Why Women Find Pastors Irresistible,

The things that ordinary men are so incapable of engaging in, especially with their wives and girlfriends, happen to be among the things that women find attractive about men of God.

Whatever the time of day, whatever the circumstance, the man of God will always make time to listen and to throw in his thought and his spiritual words to any person who needs it.

Most of the time, it is the women who approach them with their problems and the men of God don’t disappoint. The men of God throw in something else - they empathise with the women as they listen to their problems and help them search for little solutions to their issues.

Be it spiritual, financial, emotional or career related, the men of God will have something soothing to say. The new evangelical churches that have come up all over the country have introduced a new dimension to the nature of men of God.

The pastors at these churches are mostly young men, are charismatic, articulate, and well groomed. You have probably seen them on Sundays and Saturday. They have fresh faces that have been scrubbed at the salon. They spot neat haircuts and have well-tailored suits and impossibly well-polished shoes.

In some way, the preachers and pastors end up looking way above the ordinary man in terms of his once-a-week grooming ritual. Their sharp appearance together with a good command of English, well- modulated voices and agile and theatrical performance on the stage will leave any single or married woman mushy.
