Excellent response by the FG. I suggest Nigeria temporarily withdraws from ECOWAS, just to get the rest of West Africa to sit straight.

Nigeria contributes nearly 80% of all ECOWAS funds and those funds help with so many things, from regional security to emergency food and health supplies.

The Nigerian GDP is 75% of West Africa's GDP. West Africa has 14 nations that basically depend on Nigeria for their survival.

Nigeria should LEAVE ECOWAS for them, and ask Nigerian businesses in Ghana to return home.

3 of the top 5 banks in Ghana are Nigerian banks. Order them to withdraw immediately from Ghana, let us see how the Ghana economy can withstand that shock to their system. That move alone will plunge their economy into recession in a matter of days.

Also, 70,000 Nigerian students are in Ghanaian universities, and they are made to pay in dollars there. This brings in billions of dollars to Ghanaian coffers each year. Nigeria should declare that it will not recognise degrees from Ghanaian universities henceforth, and end that phenomenon.

Let us see how long before Ghana gets their head straight after these measures.

If they continue their madness, the FG should consider sponsoring rebel movements in northern Ghana and neighbouring Burkina Faso to infiltrate and destabilize that country, and effect regime change in favour of a more pro-Nigeria administration.

Do you know that Ghana hasn't got a single fighter jet?

Not one. I've done the research. Their military is ranked 28th in Africa, while Nigeria is 3rd or 4th. Even Burkina Faso is ranked above them militarily.

They are very weak and vulnerable to military/terrorist/rebel attacks and incursions, and have spent very little on their military, because their government has taken it for granted that Nigerian forces will defend them like we did in Liberia, Sierra leone, Gambia etc, in the event of a crisis.

No more.

Ghana have become too proud and arrogant at the relative peace and prosperity they have enjoyed under the regional economic and security umbrella that Nigeria has provided the sub-region over the last 20 years.

Today, they are welcoming black Americans in their thousands, offering them free citizenship and free land to live and work on, while chasing Nigerians around, locking their shops, and demanding they pay 1 million dollars each to work.

They are like the great Chinua Achebe's little bird nza, who so far forgot himself after a heavy meal, that he challenged his personal god to a wrestling contest. Needless to add, the deity picked him up and with one swift, deft move, dashed him unto the cold stony earth.

They must be taught a lesson they will never forget.

You are so on point.

The ecowas policy says 90 days and 90 days is all you will get beyond which you must take steps to regularise your stay in Ghana.
Else deportation awaits.

All African countries have a resident permit rule including Nigeria, so why are you guys complaining about Ghana enforcing it legal regime?
So now you want to set how huch Ghana should charge on residence permit?
Did Ghana set Nigeria resident permit amount charge for her?
Are Nigerians the only one who pay residence permit in Ghana?

The reason why most countries turn out to be huge messes is the lackadaisically way to law enforcement

Every country in West Africa need to start enforcing their laws so they dont end up with huge messes on their hand.
Oga when I say it is 90 days you think I don't know what I am saying, I have it on my passport, it says 60 days, stamp by Ghana immigration at your airport or border, nobody says you should change your laws to favour any foreigner but it is eye opening to others.

Why do the Chinese come to Nigeria?

The Indians and Lebanese too?

Is it because their govts ''don't know what they are doing''?

Nigerians, like those other nationals, are natural traders and entrepreneurs and will always travel for new markets regardless of what is happening in Nigeria. So leave the govt out of this.

Another brainless comment.

Do you prefer a homicide rate of 70,000 to the few hundred killed by herdsmen per annum? Yes or no.

You must be INSANE to say the situation in America where there are 300 million guns in private possession is ''heaven''.

Did the FG forget to add the closure of Nigerian border to Ghanaian goods ? Did they suddenly remember there is something called ECOWAS protocol?

Nigeria can take measures to guarantee the interest of its people but Ghana can’t?

Within the last 20 years Nigeria’s population has increased by over 80 million people. What country can develop with such massive population growth?

There are more poor people in Nigeria than any country in Africa. Northern Nigeria has one of the highest illiteracy and poverty rates in the world. How about you fix that so that Nigerians can stay in Nigeria and make it a better country that other Africans want to migrate to ?

With the abundance of oil money, what has Nigeria got to show for it?

Where were they when Liberia and Sierra leone needed defending?

They couldn't stop mere ragtag rebels from destabilizing those countries, but it is NIGERIA they will stop?

A lot of lies and half truths.

- what has Nigerians GDP got to do with Ghana? Ghanaian trade with Nigeria is less than 1% of our economy.

- a simple Google search will show you Ghana has several fighter jets. As a country we care more about our people than wasting money on military assets.

- Ghana is welcoming African Americans because they’re bringing investments. Not competing with local people for basic jobs reserved for poor people. Nigerian students, bankers, IT professions are warmly welcomed in Ghana, its the petty traders and criminals that we don’t like!

- the 1 million requirement is only for retail. A Nigerian can set up business in all other areas in Ghana without any requirement. It is only there as means of discouraging foreigners from taking over Ghana’s retail sector which is reserved for poorer Ghanaians.

- So Nigeria has contributed to Ghana’s peace but they can’t provide peace to their own people? What is happening in Nothern Nigeria with Boko Haram ? With all the digger jets and strong army why are they not defeating them?

- the only Nigerian bank in Ghana’s top 10 banks is Zenith

Funny thing about Nigerians is that you think too highly of your country’s influence. Tell me what can Nigeria do?

The only thing they can do is retaliate. But the federal government wouldn’t dare because there are significantly more Nigerians in Ghana than the other way round. The only thing they can do is complain and moan for Nigerians to know they’re doing something.

..Ghanians are bitter about Nigeria simply because Nigerians sell goods at cheaper price than Ghanians. Ghanians believe in making big profit from just one product, while Nigerians believe in little little profit. So for this reason they feel Nigerians are spoiling their business.
100% truth, I remember way back when I use to supply phone accessories let me take for example you can supply them phone cover for 2cedis they will not sell anything less than 5cedis goods that you didn't pay transport to go and buy at end paying you the money will be problem the thing start affecting my capital that result me to start selling retail they will like to double the price they bought the goods when you ask for reduction they will get angry.

100% correct

Nigeria is just dashing it's oil it is not being paid because of the massive debt in the country and also because of Nigerians go abroad and commit fraud when they commit fraud they develop world just takes three times or four times that amount of oil from Nigeria. if a Nigerian commit 1 US Dollar fraud from abroad those country will take 4 US dollar oil from Nigeria for free.

Nigerians are one of the most stupidest people in the world with criminal mentality inside their blood they will only support a Criminal

But this same Nigeria government is massacring unarmed innocent Biafran IPOB agitators on daily in their domain. Terrorism roadblocks using by Nigeria terrorist in uniforms to extorting from Biafrans on daily basis; but there is no single roadblocks by Nigeria terrorist government security forces in the North.
