Was it not your choice to give them 5k? You should have refused and simply allow them to arrest you and charge you according to the state traffic laws, but i guess you did not want to go that route, hence the easier one of settling. It is a sad situation but citizens should no exonerate themselves from the mess. 90% of the times, violators prefer to induce the officers and go rather than facing the law, a win win situation for the rouge officers and the rouge offenders.

You need to be arrested and prosecuted. You committed a serious offence(driving without seatbelt) and settled your way out with five thousand naira instead of facing the law. You will soon be tracked.

I'm just ready to engage the officer if he had took it too far with the man. So many scenario because my office (Insurance Brokerage firm) is beside the FRSC office in ojodu Berger
