Campaigns are actively ongoing in Edo state oo with so many crowds with markets and other things moving well, but just mention opening school and semi illiterate Nigerians will remember social distancing, and how difficult it is for children to practice, as if ghosts are the ones doing campaign grin grin

Is Nigeria not a wonderful place? grin grin

A Northerner is in power, naturally they revere politics but detest education. Modalities for safe resumption of schools would have been put into place long ago had a SW been in power. Were it to be an Igbo man, Nigeria's economy and commercial sector would be thriving first and awarded more serious attention. Were it to be a middle beltan, agriculture.

Well your cut off maybe a bit exeggeration.. Most countries paid attention to vital parts of their society and considered schools first and other areas while reopening but Nigeria has proving to be backward indeed and shows where the priority lies.. I'm not surprised at all

This one is disconnected with Nigeria. Who is chairman of PTF, the team set up by president buhari to navigate the country through this murky waters of covid-19? The chairman of PTF is a northerner and he behaved like a true northerner. He approved the resumption of electioneering processes(it was never even paused in the first place), he also approved resumption of religious activities in mosques and churches, he approved resumption of civil service duties, market activities, transportation activities, et cetera but has continued to shy away from the resumption of academic activities. The mandate of the PTF that makes decisions for our society and polity will end in December, according to President Buhari.

Think home, Mr.

You fail to understand this is a worldwide problem and what the government does affects everyone.

For your information, schools in UK opened this week, but markets and people demonstrating on the streets have been going on all through the lockdown despite government disapproval.

How is a global problem our problem angry Please we are talking about Nigeria here, don't digress to the rest of the world. Nobody included UK in the early part of this discourse.

Nigeria is facing the same pandemic the entire world is facing and is dealing with it the same way the rest of the world is dealing with it, and blaming Northerners is as ignorant as blaming the same action in say UK on Northerners.

what are you even talking about? Why would you reference the UK here now? Are you even in Nigeria? People barely wear face masks anymore, yet heaven ain't falling. We lack adequate ventilators yet heaven ain't falling. In almost 7months now our death toll hovers around 1,000 which is even an exaggeration. Countries you are thinking of some have hundreds of thousands of deaths and buried thousands in a day at a point.

COVID-19 in Nigeria as far as we know it, is far less lethal than the one you have circulating in the West. So please spare me your comparisons. The so-called kids you don't want to return to classrooms all have group hangouts just to catch fun, so where is the distancing? It is even easier to distance them in schools than streets where they've been seen to mingle about without adhering to any WHO guidelines for COVID-19 pandemic.

In Nigeria, lives have returned to normal. You would only disagree if you are not living here because in that case I would not blame you since you don't see things for yourself.

Perhaps it might make sense to you if you factor in how badly Nigeria counts deaths.

How badly Nigeria counts deaths, ogbeni e get anywhere you hear massive death counts being reported across Nigeria? undecided We may not have efficient medical facilities in every nook and cranny of Nigeria, but literally every one now has smartphone and free 10mb from mtn to upload new occurrences on their whatsapp status or nairaland.

So there is absolutely no way such may have occurred without due reportage.

You're intelligent bro, see how quick he was to bring in UK but if it comes to paying health workers hazard allowance and palliative to Nigerians he will forget UK

Why is it that u igbos are so full of hate for the north. The war has come and gone so get over yourselves.
Besides no Nigerian with a brain (including igbos) will ever pick an Igbo man to be president. Never!
