Where do we go when we die? Only God has the answer, and that answer is clearly provided in the Bible. Where did God say Adam and Eve, the first sinners, will go when they die?
The Bible book of Genesis chapter 3 verse 19 answers: "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you RETURN TO THE GROUND for out of it you were taken, for dust you are and to DUST YOU WILL RETURN". When we die we return to dust of which we were created. But is that the end? No. Jesus answers: "Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the grave will hear his voice and come out....." John 5:28, 29.
So, Jesus promises that in future there will be a resurrection of those who have died. And the Bible added "there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.." Acts chapter 24:15. Therefore when we die, whether righteous or unrighteous, we go to the grave to wait for the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ."
Is it everyone that will be resurrected? No. For Jesus said that those who sinned against the holy spirit will neither be forgiven in this world nor in the world to come. Meaning, they will not be resurrected.
This is the refreshing truth of God's word. God never said anyone will die and go to a place of fire to be burned forever. In the account of creation, the Bible simply said "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" Genesis 1:1. There is no record in the account of creation where it is written that God created a place of fire to burn the wicked forever. That teaching is the idea of Satan and his agents, not of God at all.
Will the wicked be punished? Certainly yes. The Bible says the wicked will be punished with everlasting destruction. They will die after God's judgement and never to rise again. This is what the Bible calls lake of fire or Second Death, Rev 21:8.
But the living now are encouraged to seek God because those that will be destroyed in the upcoming destruction of the wicked will never be resurrected, as they will suffer everlasting destruction, 2nd Thessalonians 1:6-9.

Is that Biblical? The Bible says the wages of sin is death, Romans 6:23. But the gift God gives is everlasting life. The punishment of the wicked therefore is forfeiture of life forever. The Bible did not say the wages of sin is death and punishment, but simply DEATH. God is a God of perfect justice. He told the first sinner Adam "you will return to the dust, for dust you are, and to dust you will return" Genesis 3:19. The Bible replies: “The dead know nothing . . . for neither work, nor reason, nor wisdom, nor knowledge shall be in hell, whither thou art hastening.”—Ecclesiastes 9:5, 10, Catholic Douay Version.
Do the dead remain in Hades? No. Jesus himself was in Hades, or hell, but was “raised up the third day,” as both church creeds and the Bible teach. (1 Corinthians 15:4; Acts 2:29-32; Psalm 16:10) Also, through him “there is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15) So Hades will finally be emptied and cease to exist—“cast into the lake of fire.”
However, some may ask: ‘Why does Revelation 20, verse 10, say that the Devil will be tormented in the lake of fire?’ If, as we have seen, the lake of fire is symbolic, then, logically, the torment is also.
In Bible times, jailers often cruelly tortured their prisoners, hence they were called “tormentors.” In one of his illustrations, Jesus spoke of a cruel slave as being ‘delivered to the jailers’ (Greek, ba·sa·ni·stesʹ, which actually means “tormentors” and is so rendered in several translations). (Matthew 18:34) So when Revelation speaks of the Devil and others as being “tormented . . . forever” in the lake of fire, it means that they will be “jailed” to all eternity in the second death of complete destruction. The Devil, the death inherited from Adam, and the unrepentant wicked all are spoken of as being destroyed eternally—“jailed” in the lake of fire.—Compare Hebrews 2:14; 1 Corinthians 15:26; Psalm 37:38.
Appreciating Bible symbolism helps us to understand what Jesus meant when he spoke of sinners’ being “cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.” (Mark 9:47, 48, KJ) The Greek word here used, translated as “hell fire,” is geʹen·na, or Gehenna. A valley by that name was located just outside Jerusalem and was used as a garbage dump. A fire burned day and night there to destroy the city rubbish. This, at times, included the bodies of criminals considered unworthy of a decent burial or of a resurrection. Worms were also present in the valley as destructive agents, but they were certainly not immortal! Jesus was simply illustrating graphically, in a way well understood by Judeans, that the unrepentant wicked would be everlastingly destroyed. Hence, Gehenna has the same meaning as “the lake of fire”—it represents the second death of everlasting destruction.
The dogma of eternal torment is based on the immortal-soul theory. However, the Bible clearly states: “The soul that is sinning—it itself will die.” (Ezekiel 18:4, 20; see also Acts 3:23.) Proclaimers of hellfire have made the true God, Jehovah, appear to be a fiend—a cruel monster—instead of what he is: a God of love, “merciful and gracious . . . and abundant in loving-kindness.”—Exodus 34:6.
Lovingly, God has made provision to save men, not from torment, but from being destroyed. Said Jesus: “God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son, in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life.”—John 3:16.

Thanks man I learnt something new. My dear, the Bible describes God as Love in its superlative degree, 1st John 4:8. Sure he will punish the wicked who fails to repent, with death forever, but it is not in God's character to torture people. In ancient time the children of israel deviated from pure worship and were worshipping idols, some went to the extent of offering their children by burning them in fire. Do you know how God reacted to that barbaric act? He told them "that the idea of torturing people or burning people in fire has NEVER come to his mind". Read it at Jeremiah 32:25. God can destroy with fire, bit will never keep the people alive burning in that fire. He did it to Sodom and Gomorrah and Paul the apostle warned that those who do not repent will suffer same fate, 1st Thess 1:6-9. Are the people in Sodom still living inside that fire? No, they are dead. The reward for worshipping God is everlasting life. So those who do not want that reward will be denied of it. That is their punishment, they will die and not live. But the righteous will live and enjoy life. That is the principle of divine justice. The other day a girl was scammed and losing her money she committed suicide. Now one christian fanatic said the girl will go to hell. I now ask what about the scammer who frustrated the little girl? Where will he go? No answer. You see how ridiculous? God has promised to undo all the bad things Satan has caused here on earth, that is why Jesus came. So if anyone suffers injustice now like that small girl, God will resurrect her during judgement day. What is the judgement day? It is not 24 hours, it is a long period spanning years during which God's knowledge will be taught to all those that will be resurrected. Their response to God's commandment will determine whether they will continue to live to enjoy life or forfeit life. At that time Satan will be no more, so one has no excuse, there will be no more death resulting from sickness or old age. God's judgement day is a day of joy for everyone resurrected. After judgement some will go to heaven while some will be sent to hell. Where will the dead be before judgement? If you say heaven, now how did they get to heaven when they have not been judged? If you say hell why were they sent there when they had not been judged. You see that that teaching does not make sense. The dead are in the grave waiting for resurrection, that is what the Bible teaches, John 5:28,29.
There are two eternities. HEAVEN and HELL. This is not true, Sir. Some will sure go to heaven but majority will live FOREVER, here on EARTH, Psalm 37:29. Jesus said so too, at Matthew 5:5. The wicked will turn to dust, Genesis 3:19. Again, hell is not a place, it is the grave. Righteous people go there too. Jesus went there and was resurrected from it on the third day.
Matthew 25:46 and these shall go away into everlasting punishment (HELL) but the righteous into life eternal(HEAVEN). This portion never mentioned hell rather punishment which implies forfeiture of everlasting life.

Where do we go when we die? Only God has the answer, and that answer is clearly provided in the Bible. Where did God say Adam and Eve, the first sinners, will go when they die?
The Bible book of Genesis chapter 3 verse 19 answers: "In the sweat of your face you will eat bread until you RETURN TO THE GROUND for out of it you were taken, for dust you are and to DUST YOU WILL RETURN". When we die we return to dust of which we were created. But is that the end? No. Jesus answers: "Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the grave will hear his voice and come out....." John 5:28, 29.
So, Jesus promises that in future there will be a resurrection of those who have died. And the Bible added "there will be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.." Acts chapter 24:15. Therefore when we die, whether righteous or unrighteous, we go to the grave to wait for the resurrection promised by Jesus Christ."
Is it everyone that will be resurrected? No. For Jesus said that those who sinned against the holy spirit will neither be forgiven in this world nor in the world to come. Meaning, they will not be resurrected.
This is the refreshing truth of God's word. God never said anyone will die and go to a place of fire to be burned forever. In the account of creation, the Bible simply said "in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" Genesis 1:1. There is no record in the account of creation where it is written that God created a place of fire to burn the wicked forever. That teaching is the idea of Satan and his agents, not of God at all.
Will the wicked be punished? Certainly yes. The Bible says the wicked will be punished with everlasting destruction. They will die after God's judgement and never to rise again. This is what the Bible calls lake of fire or Second Death, Rev 21:8.
But the living now are encouraged to seek God because those that will be destroyed in the upcoming destruction of the wicked will never be resurrected, as they will suffer everlasting destruction, 2nd Thessalonians 1:6-9.
