All I want to say is that them senators don't care about us.

They collect millions every month, some who were exgovernors collect pensions.

They get pensions for life, while the ordinary citizen has to wait till they re 50 yrs before they get their s which is just a fraction.

Worker s who retired almost 10yrs ago don't receive gratuity or pension, yet these vultures keep passing legislation that exploits the poor, kill creativity and hardworking and put enslave people to perpetual poverty.

They re imposed on us, we didn't vote them, that's why they do this.

This is not the time to increase fuel price in our darling nation at all.

Not with all that is going on around the world, pandemic et al,
When people are finding it difficult to survive.

This is part of the same reason we voted out the party of thieves and criminals.

THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE WE VOTED FOR.

The same way we sane, honest and hardworking Nigerians praised this government when they reduced fuel price sometimes ago, we should make sure we put our voice together to castigate and talk against this.

That is the voice the government will listen to,
Not the voice of children of hate, frustration and perdition that have never seen any good thing in our country,
That all they do is to wail continously in life.
They even wailed when the price was reduced.
They have been wailing since my darling daddy won the election, even before swearing in!
They are not wailing for the common man like (Omotola) and all other sane and honest people are doing, but they are wailing in pain that the corrupt money being shared to them by the losers they support is not forthcoming anymore.
They have been so used to corruption, they see it as a way of life.
That is what we stand against.

WE SAY NO TO FUEL PRICE INCREASE.
A better Nigeria for all is all we want.

You may have some good and salient points here sir,
But, the timing is not just right at all
Not in this pandemic time.

Nigeria was set-up in such a way that nothing works properly. Who can identify one sector (govt.) that functions optimally in Nigeria?

Senate, Military, Police grin, Nscdc (shooting and killing innocent Nigerians) , DSS, SARS, Fire service grin, MDAs, NASRDA, NSITF, CBN, etc. If you look closely, all are headed by people from one region will always feel.like they were created to be served by others. This monkey dey work, babon dey Cho Nigeria can never be great.

Nigeria shall be great one day (although I doubt)
Forget it my brother. Nigeria as one Nigeria can never be great. The tribes will always fight over leadership

Re: Petrol Price Hike, Water Resources Bills Test Senate’s Representation Role by Nobody: 11:19am On Sep 12, 2020
The govt has the right to play us because when they pay trillions to subsidise petrol we say no to subsidy likewise when they pay abt 2 trillions annually to subsidise electricity we say no to it. Those ppl don't listen to masses but rather listen to economists and no economist will advise govt to giv subsidy.
I rememba those days when PMB didn't appoint economic team the masses criticised him. Now he set up economic team under Salami with abt 10 experts who can revive the economy of not only Nigeria but Africa but sincerely since the time they started their work Nigerians started seeing rough and wicked economic policies. PMB give them free access to his office anytime when they've issues to discuss with him, they're paid in millions. They proposed increase in VAT, complete removal of subsidy and convinced him that if the subsidy is removed the money can be used for infrastructure. It's shameful that we always borrow policies instead of considering the nation & culture of our ppl. Fear adoption of foreign policies and economic theories!

Was it not ignorant Nigerians that were screaming that they wanted COOPERATION not CONFRONTATION?

Is this not the result. You hand all your aces to those on the other side and expect your opponent to keel over and capitulate.

Who then fights for you when you have handed over your bodyguard (the legislature) and your attorney (the judiciary) to your adversary at the primise of peace. Is there anything more foolish?

They have now made the citizens give up so much but they have not given up anything. They have not given up their storied culture of waste, graft and maladministration so all the money will predictably go into their bottomless pit. Only in Nigeria.

The Minister of Petroleum even had the effontery to say the money saved will be used to REHABILITATE the refineries they have been rehabilitating since 1987 (first time I started hearing that word). That is trying to awaken the beast that has devastated this country for decades instead of burning it to the ground and chasing all the rats away.

But here we are. Sentiment has disarmed the citizens are now we are cannon fidder for this APC led 'change' goverment. They will use the money for more 'school feeding', more 'pandemic palliatives', more jet setting, more 'contracting' and every disgusting and disingenuous policy they can cook up tantalise the citizens while stealing theur common wealth leaving them absolutely worse off for their sacrifices in time to come.

WHAT HAS GOVERMENT CONCEDED TO NIGERIANS IN THIS, WHAT ARE THEY GIVING UP, WHAT PLEASURES ARE THEY SACRIFICING....NOTHING.

In the past serious negotiations will preceed such monumental moves. Today, nothing. Full blown autocracy is what Nigerians voted for. The ability of the average Nigerian to control and direct his destiny is lost.

Who hands over a trillion naira of sacrifice to its goverment without asking questions or anything in return except Nigerians. China that has given us loans on behalf of its citizens is shaking our sovreignity. Our citizens are giving much more to goverment and dashing away their liberties as 'jara'. Just mind boggling.

You got it right.

Painfully the bamboozled people believe that they need to sacrifice more for their expected "change" to happen. They see clearly that their messiah has failed on all fronts and yet they believe. With this kind of mind set by millions of bewitched Nigerians the country is in a big hole.

They are just playing to the gallery

When u said u want deregulation what did u think will happen. Nigerians should stop being stupid. Govt didn't increase price, what u are paying is the actual price without subsidy or regulation
But they are still paying subsidy.

Besides this same govt (buhari) claimed that subsidy was a scam and there's no such thing.

How many times will they remove subsidy and make us pay the actual price without government regulation?
Did they not do that in 2016

Nigeria Removes Fuel Subsidy, Prompts Mixed Reactions

5/12/16

The cost of petrol will rise from 86.5 naira ($0.43) to 145 naira ($0.73) per litre after the subsidy—which costs the Nigerian government $2.7 million per day, according to the BBC—was removed.

The Nigerian Petroleum Ministry said in a statement that there was no provision for the subsidy in the 2016 budget—which was finally approved by President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday after first being proposed in December 2015—and that the slight rebound in the cost of oil had forced the government's hand.

Nigeria is experiencing a severe fuel shortage, with consumers queuing for hours outside gas stations and often paying way over the new price for black-market products.
