A RENOWNED GRASSROOT COACH IN THE COUNTRY Mr Ada Gwegwe CRIES OUT FOR HELP





A renowed grassroot coach Ada Gwegwe who is from Obogoro Community situated along the Ikoli River in Yenagoa Bayelsa State has cried out to the Bayelsa State and the Federal Government to come to their aid as their community is being threatened by erosion day after day, this ugly situation is gradually pushing them to the brink of extinction.
According to Mr Gwegwe many buildings have been lost to erosion, it was learnt that a school building, football field, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) lodge and several houses have been washed into the Ikoli River.
Mr Gwegwe revealed that if urgent measure is not taken, the erosion will wipe away the community hence leaving occupants homeless and vulnerable to sickness and diseases. The award winning coach steered that the primary school that served as a ground where children from within and outside the community acquire basic education has been washed away. He went further to state "hadn't been the intervention of Hon Oforji Oboku who built a new primary school, my community could have been without a Government School". While thanking Mr Project Hon Oforji Oboku for coming to the help of his community he also called on the Bayelsa state and Federal Government as well as the NDDC to come to thier aid as quickly as possible. According to Mr Gwegwe "my people have been abandoned, we our now left with our faith". Mr Gwegwe said if nothing is been done he and his people will mobilize for a peaceful protest for the world to see because they are victims of natural disasters and the Government is not saying anything.
