The former governor of Ekiti State and a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Peter Fayose did not mince words in his reaction to the victory recorded by his party in the just-concluded Edo State governorship election.

After congratulating the leadership of PDP and the governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki on his reelection, Mr. Fayose reminded the latter that he was rescued by PDP, adding that he should not leave the party.

nawa for some people...with which structure would he had contested under any other partyThe structure was already set for him in PDP especially considering the timing of his expulsion from APC which made Oshiomole feel confident that he has dealt with him completely.
So u think if he had contested under another platform within that short timeframe he would have garnered the kind of support PDP bigwigs had for him??

If you listen to the ongoing argument during the build up to the Edo election, the political gladiators keep saying that Edo state is primarily a PDP state, thereby having a solid structure which actually helped Obaseki.

This is unlike Lagos where it is APC dominated. The PDP structure isn't visible like that. It will further put Ambode in trouble by the time the house of assembly APC dominated deal with him, even before the election.

Meanwhile, Fayose was the beneficiary of Federal Might under GEJ so he understands the terrain very well, reason he believed Obaseki could not win .

Buhari has shown he is a democrat and believer in free and fair elections (not do-or-die as espoused by OBJ nor use of security agencies to lock up opposition party bigwigs hours to election done by GEJ) unlike what most people think.

Victory for Democracy!

I won’t be surprise when issues arises and Obaseki decamps again.
