In as much that I don't support theft in any form, several politicians and most recently estranged ex chairman of efcc have been left off the hook after emblezzing billions of naira. The court only enforces her judgement on the unpopular.

. She was sentenced to seven years on each of the fourteen counts, totalling 98 years. However by running concurrently means she would be serving the 7years on each of the fourteen counts at the same time. She would spend only 7 years in jail for all the counts. She would not finish serving on count one and start again to serve on counts two to fourteen.

Alright thanks...I get now..

I really do not know the greed of Nigerian bankers.
The way they abate and perpetrate crime is alarming.

Blind??! In Nigeria??! How??!... Justice here is biased and corrupt!!!

A highly placed politician would have merely been made to pay a fraction of the loot, and serve 2 to 4 years house arrest.

Loud it plss. You have spoken well but Nigeria isn't ready for this truth.
ethicallyright:
What I have noticed is that Nigerians do not forgive local scams but majority of citizens support foreign scam.
Scam an American widow as a Nigerian living in Nigeria and you'll get a maximum of two years imprisonment but scam a Nigerian bank ,that is obviously richer than the widow, of funds lesser than that of the American widow and you'll get almost 100 years in imprisonment.
Take money from the church purse in Nigeria to pay medical bills and you'll be in prison without trial or steal 5000 naira from your boss whose hotel was established by looting public funds and you'll be stripped naked and beaten to stupor.

Wait... do you think it is the banker , lawyer , medical doctor, accountant, professional footballer or someone who has never engaged in violence that initiates a jungle justice attack?

Your answer should explain that those who do not forgive a scam crime are those who scam most.

Second question: Who is more likely to chase and kill a person who scammed him? (a) An innocent old man who has been ripped off by scammers (b) A crime syndicate player who has been ripped off by his fellow gang member

Am I the only one seeing concurrently in the jail term. If this is correct, then the sentence is just 7 years

Looks like most people didn't understand the sentencing. She'll be in jail for 7 years only since the 14 counts of 7 years each run concurrently. If she was arrested in 2013 and had been in jail since then, she will be free in 2020. So it depends on when her start date commenced or commences.

Note the sentence should run concurrently which means she is to serve the highest sentence from all the 14 count charge. Therefore, she is serving just 7years ( she also enjoys one third remission of her sentence)

Our justice system and judges are unjust and biased. Those who have looted this country empty and whose actions have impacted negatively on the masses are walking free. Shame on the Nigeria judiciary system.
