Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Senior Pastor of Lagos-based church, Daystar Christian Centre, Wednesday said that Nigerians’ lives might not improve if the country finally breaks up or restructures.

In clarity, the above submission shows that Pastor Sam has a different opinion from the raucous clamour and of course the fugue voices of Nigerians demanding for restructuring.

“I fear that the life of the common man may not improve if Nigeria restructures into regions or even if it breaks up now. The culture of leadership that makes leaders to consume most of the resources and to leave most people impoverished will likely continue”, Sam hypothetically stated.

Suffixing to this, Dr. Ahmed Suleiman, a rights activist and lecturer, who played host to Channels TV ‘Sunrise Daily’, argued that the country should focus on institutionalization than demanding for restructuring.

He posited that: “Restructuring is the mantra of those who lost in the power game and are now blackmailing government, trying to pull us apart.

“Let’s concentrate on one system and strengthen institutions around it. Then we can do away with the ones not working.”

Embellishing the two thoughts, Presidency on Monday averred that President Muhammadu Buhari would not succumb to threats and undue pressure emanating from some individuals and socio-ethnic groups calling for the immediate restructuring of Nigeria

In a statement Malam Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, clearly stated that: “The Presidency responds to the recurring threats to the corporate existence of the country with factions giving specific timelines for the President to do one thing or another or else, in their language, “the nation will break up.”

Sam Adeyemi is simply being realistic, considering how docile we have become when it comes to demanding for accountability and better living conditions from our leaders.

The average common man in the country have accepted suffering and smiling as a way of life, so if the country is restructured or break-up as demanded in some quarters, the culture of being rule by insensitive and selfish leaders will likely continue, with little or no resistance from the already brow-beaten commoners.

This is the exact fears expressed by Pastor Sam

If Nigeria breaks up, there will be no Nigerians to improve. But if we restructure, allowing each State to protect her Security, exploy and exploit her Resources for her people and educate and train her sons and daughters for Elections, Representations and Advancements, there will certainly be improvements in productivity, services, incomes and lives of Nigerians.

If Nigeria breaks, no Nigeria to rule over. But if Nigeria is restructured, there will be no way for a rotten Bokoharam, a rattish Biafran and a silly Afonja to rule Nigeria ever again.

The common man accepted suffering smiling because there is no common goal, the people are simple divided by leadership. Balkanization will lead to accountancy and tribes will demand for better leadership in their own way. Off course not all will be favoured but we can't keep doing same thing for 60yrs.

My point is everybody should go there separate ways if you choose to unite again as a nation....we will redraw our map and bring our ideas to the table on how to be as one nation

Not fussing people of different culture, religion, language and understanding as one nation....it simply never works

Let met tell you something, if Nigeria splits we will all go back to square 1 and before any of those new nations get any meaning full progress to be termed a developed country, I assure you it won't take less than 200 years, while Nigeria on the other hand has mapped out it's problem (diversifying the economy as oil revenue is not enough) since 2000 during OBJ government, to reality is the bring problem due to low revenues generated as oil prices continues to fall, but we are moving forward although it very slow and with Nigeria I have the hope of seeing the country become atleast a higher middle income country during my life time.

When doing your calculation put in consideration of economic blockade in south east region while at it research about our GDP in 1966-1967 there's no oil then but pure business(buying and selling)

Check the GDP of DR MICHEAL OKPARA and akanu ibiam administration of old eastern region and come back

Too bad coming from someone of his intellect. Is he saying a country brought together for economic ease by the colonial masters ought not have a proper round table discussion about terms & conditions of relationship going forward? Many things are wrong with the current set-up and if he is truly a man of God and not just a motivational speaker with pulpit, then he would say things as it should be said.
