I don't think any network supports VoLTE in Nigeria yet.
Maybe it's just 4G but your ROM renamed it to VoLTE.
I don't know, I have been using this ROM for years now, this is the first time it happened

It’s nothing to worry about, It just means you can make calls and receive calls while using 4g without any interruption in network.

The icon just start showing on my notifications bar this evening.
What's used for?
Taking a closer look at the screenshot, I think it's the Glo getting VoLTE, not MTN. Can you confirm if you are still getting VoLTE?

It stops but occasionally shows up some days
