Those that started the movement #endsars initially had genuine interest to stop police brutality against innocent citizens. The movement has been hijacked by criminals and elements of disobedient. If SARS is disbanded, does it mean that police will abandon the fight against cyber crime? Another formation can be established with a different name and can be more brutal than SARS. The attack on security agencies on the disguise of protest is unacceptable and uncalled for. Nigerians have right to protest against government but government also has the responsibility to curb breaking down of law and order.
SARS was never formed to fight cyber crime but to go after armed robbers... The responsibility to fight cyber crime rest on the desk of the EFCC.

Honestly, even though SARS have their ills, they are still very useful at combating crime.
Aside fighting robbery and crime, they also fight yahoo boys.
Its a fact they have over stepped their boundaries, but banning them have its consequences.
Let the govt reform and give them a template to work on. Even in America, the cops have always over stepped their boundaries.Jimmy Floyd is an example.

SARS is not killing Nigerians in the north the way they do in the south. That is why you're calling for reform instead of ending it.

So without sars Police won't fight criminals again?...they can't fight criminality without sars .

Sars is now a criminal outfit killing and maiming innocent people and filled with ex convicts and criminals.....

They should be disbanded all attempts to reform them has failed ......#endsars

The bloody organisation does not speak for or represent all groups in the North.I wonder what makes the persons that run this organization believe they can wake up one morning and just arrogate to themselves the power to preside over everyone in the so-called North.
I am from Kogi but wouldn't allow anyone tag me proSARs.I am very much in support of what my brothers and sisters down south are doing,as long as it is done within ambits of the law. This madness has got to stop!
Now if someone else, for some inexplicable reason, believes that Buhari and his co-travellers are the best things that have happened to Nigeria since bread invented, that's their bloody business not mine.
Please don't drag me to the level of such mind numbing stupidity.

The NPF needs a wholistic reconfiguration with the ban of SARS. SARS was formed to battle armed robbers and kidnappers in 1992 in lagos. in early 2000 , sars units were created nationwide due to increasing violent crimes. 10 years later, Internet fraud became popular and armed robberies becoming old fashioned . sars guys were becoming idle, no more action , no money. efcc guys are living like Saudi princes.sars were envying efcc guys and decided to have their share of proceeds of frauds. the truth is that era of rampant armed robberies has gone. this is new era of Internet fraud. they do not have training to handle cybercrimes. many innocent ones have been harassed and killed by sars. follow PoliceCRU and segalink in twitter and read bad experiences people had with sars. sars are friends of yahoos and criminals. they visit real yahoos monthly to collect 'salaries'. it is when they fail to meet their 'targets', they resort to extorting any youth. sars and personnels of other tactical units should be deployed to fight bandits as SWAT team while government devotes more resources to efcc and icpc to have presence in every lg.

You are on point brother. SARS begins to envy Efcc because No work for them via physical criminals.

Why can't they just stay silent, even if they have to make a statement they shouldn't make it sound so divisive, telling us about population and number of states....They make senseless statement that continue to Stoke disunity then they turn around and say one Nigeria... talking from both sides of the mouth...

Unfortunately it will end up with the president listening to them. If they cannot rise and protest #endbokoharam, but they can rise up and tell govt not to #endsars that is not even present in the north, is that not the highest level of misplaced priority?

But no one is talking now.

We didn't vote on Twitter or gave instructions for whom to vote on Twitter. Why is the President not addressing the situation.?

A good body language will go a long way in reducing tension. Sack the IGP and some few bad eggs, set up a committee to bring justice to bereaved families and ensure they are visited and compensated with justice.

Is that too much to ask?

Definitely Nigeria needs a service's of SAR, thay are only agency that can deals with the bad attitude of such idle stupid youth engage in criminal activities especially the southern youth who want a money in any way, So the Northern youths don't engage themselves in certain criminals activities and they Religion teaches them good characters, so they have no case with any security. So change your attitude and SAR will care your. #WENEEDSARS!!!

Don't believe the census figures...they are not that many and even the whole Nigerian population is not up to the 200million we claim. Even though birth rate is high; death rate is equally very high

Is the police fighting cyber crime and can the police even fight cyber crime? As equipped as local police are in America they can't fight cyber crime. Na olopa when no sabi how things are done in the 21st century go fight Cyber crime.

Cyber crime that even the most equipped security agencies in the western world appear to be losing the war against it.

Prof Osibanjo wasn't stupid when he said you can't fight cyber crime by putting up road blocks and pointing Ak47 at people.

I don't know what you people stand to gain by pushing the narrative that the protest has been hijacked. I pray you all encounter Sars operatives in one way or another in your daily lives.
